About time to start a 2014 thread, as BU has now made its first offer to a soph: 6-2 combo guard JC Show, who is from the Scranton area.
http://pennstate.247sports.com/Article/2014-G-Show...
Excerpts:
- Starting for Abington Heights (Pa.) since day one of his freshman year, Show has been running the point for the Comets for two seasons now – both of which have ended in PIAA State Playoff berths. Facilitating the offense comes as a strength to the sophomore, who helps elevate his teammates’ level of play every time he steps on the court.
- Already with offers from Boston University, Bucknell, Cornell and Rider, Show has received some interest from Penn State and Villanova, both of which called Bucci after the performance.
- Having taken visits to Bucknell and Cornell in the past couple of weeks, Show is starting to get involved with colleges more.
I will follow up with a list of players with Bucknell interest, one way or the other. There are 16 thus far, although I'm sure I'm missing some.
2012-13 Attendance: 19 games and 8,354 miles driven.

Antonio Toplyn, a SF from Philly's Neumann Goretti has interest from BU.
http://rutgers.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1370869
"The quiet and unassuming 6-foot-5 small forward came to play and surprised everyone with his performance. Demonstrating amazing athletic ability, slashing skills and an ability to finish, Toplyn is a dangerous small forward who could be very good depending on how much more he grows. With a good sense of seeing the open floor and being able to handle the rock, the rising junior needs to play with a sense of urgency like this all the time in order to be recognized. With no current offers on the table, the talented slasher has interest from Illinois, Bucknell, Delaware, Radford, Boston, Akron, VCU and St. Peter's. Look for him to have a strong summer with Team Final's U16 team."

@Woodr1ng1
S/O to @sal_biasi for fully committing to the university of Bucknell as a sophomore #fullscholarship #gaurdhim #allstar #mymainmans
Sal Biasi 5-10 G Hazleton, PA
Looking past the multiple issues with this statement, it appears we have one of the earliest commitments to the university that we have seen. Sal himself has not mentioned the commitment via Twitter so I'm not sure how accurate the info really is (tweet is from a teammate)
Haven't done any research but this sure sounds like it would be a situation where a kid jumps at his first D1 offer. Too early to tell

Looking into this a little further, there doesn't appear to be any truth to it. Sorry for the false alarm
@Karmonick21: I guess its safe to say @sal_biasi will be playing for bucknell in 2 years #allstar #someoneguardhim

Not going to chase down the Tweet, but Barnard claimed he picked up an offer on Sunday.

Friendshuh (unlike Oberfeld) may be similar to Muscala - at least in some ways. He is listed at 6-9, 195 lbs, which is likely similar to where MM was a rising junior. Also is supposed to be a good outside shooter.
Oberfeld on the other hand is 6-9, 235 lbs (maybe more) and plays DE/TE on the football field. Also is more of a post player.
2012-13 Attendance: 19 games and 8,354 miles driven.

Is Big Ben really 6-9 and 235? I thought I saw a listing of 6-6 on the recruiting thread for 2013 recruits?
If he is that big, he's already bigger than Mastro, one of our best pick-setters of all time.
We still need a quick point guard who can slash and dash, guys! Hope that Dane is all over that player.

Doktore, from the articles and links above, Ben O is that big and might weigh even more.
He could have played football in college. So, we know that he is not afraid of contact. I am looking forward to a rebounding, physical player who has lots of potential.
