Congrats to John as he was named an assistant coach at Rider today.I would think he will thrive as a head coach in the not so distance future.

I agree. Rider, btw, is ridiculously slow to post news. The Griffin signing was first reported on the MAAC board back on June 7th and yet still no press release. Also none on Michael Cotton, who joined them in early June.

Finally Rider got around to a press release on their new coaching staff, confirming the additions of Michael Cotton and John Griffin. Griffin is not a coach but rather director of basketball ops. He would definitely be someone to consider the next time an opening occurs on the BU staff.
I was a bit surprised to see that Cotton's move was a lateral one - being the #2 assistant on the Rider staff - to a program that usually pays coaches less than BU does.

That's a great interview. Good find, '89. Hope we get a Bucknell at Rider game over the next couple years.

I would fly home for a Bucknell vs. Rider game. I have a relative who used to work at Rider. He and I would have to make a nice bet. I smell the steaks grilling already. . .

I love the Broncs Zoo and its proximity to my Philly operating base.

Capacity 1650 - the 333rd largest gym in D1 basketball. Of course the Rider gym looks like Madison Square Garden compared to that of Charleston Southern, which seats about 800.
BTW, when Rider entered the MAAC back in the mid-90's, they told the league that their next priority was a new arena. The MAAC is still waiting.
