For a team that has won three of their last four, I don't feel very enthused. Sadly, the one loss (a 23 point home loss to Stony Brook) is probably more telling than the three wins over KenPom bottom 100 teams (Presby, Longwood and Colgate).

Mike James listed the Big Red as the most underachieving team in the league based on his preseason estimates. Princeton fans may disagree, but I find it hard to argue. Still, the folks at Basketball State list the Big Red as the 3rd best team in the league, ahead of Princeton, and it's not like anyone is running away from the pack.

Galal Cancer is the guy who is most likely to define the rest of the season. His first three games this season were solid: 34 points on 50%+ shooting, 15 assists, 13 rebounds and just 4 turnovers. He looked the guy I thought/hoped he would be and the Big Red were a top 200 team. Since then, 17 total points on 33% shooting and a .5 assist to turnover ratio. And Cornell is dropping steadily at KenPom. There are other reasons, but I doubt this is just a coincidence.
