Hey Wall…don’t make it bad
Take this Sad Start and make it better
Remember, The Quakers are there in your heart
So against Drexel we can start
To make it better...

Well, since we saw more of the same last night in Cheesehead land, it is time for “Part Dos” of the Atomic Quaker – although not sure who saw “part uno”, since it was posted just before the old board went Kablooey (although there is an archive for Wall worshipers to consult, it seems)...Now, to be fair, your load baring structure only heard the second half – went to the movie “National Treasure”, good little romp, but you gotta love Holly-town…apparently there is a sudden shortage of hot chicks out there, so they had to use an “American girl” with a ludicrous Germanic accent (with a great explanation...yeah, a ton of army brats end up with accents like “Touch my monkey Dieter”)...can’t wait for Disney’s next trick, namely Colin Farrell as Alex the Great with an Irish accent – although that would explain a lot, actually...you all know that we Micks actually did conquer the known world, and then retreated to the rainy island for a 2,300 year sh&tfaced victory party...yeah, that’s it!

Back to the action, though...the radio-cast again was pretty sorry…so again your roof supporting unit hopes there is some mentoring at old XPN...it was nothing but whining about the refs, in an really uncomfortable to listen to exasperated tone – guys, when you get drilled by 30, the refs didn’t cost you the game, OK? When you play against better athletes on the road you really do end up committing a lot of ticky-tack off the ball fouls, since there is no help away from the ball in the defense the Quakers use...so if your guy beats you, you grab him and hope none of the zebras are looking – and you will get caught since the refs sure weren’t looking at the crowd there at the Wisco’s “House That Cheap Clothes Built”, it sounded dead there. And com’mon fellas, when we are down 16 with like 15 minutes to go, don’t launch into an extended rap about “this one isn’t over yet”...XPN ain’t selling ads, so it is no biggie to anyone if people tune out...but in that situation, be honest and admit it’s time to warm up the freaking bus, cause it’s over...when they break out that sob story, that giant flushing sound you hear in the background is their credibility – and when you give up 80+ points again, maybe bag the “Greek Lady defensive play of the game” award…odds are there wasn’t one...poor Greek Lady, what does it say about your business when you sponsor a defense that gives up all those points? It’s like “Ladies and Gentlemen: The Polish Cavalry, brought to you by Sears/Kmart”..........Maybe Wizzards should sponsor the award in games where the Quakers get undressed like that???? (da da dum…thanks, I’ll be here all week......)

This Drexel tilt is a big one for the Red and Blue...we need to get some guys a little confidence and swagger back...Ibby has had probably 2 of his 4 hardest matchups already, so we need him to realize how good he is (jeez, even the old dude who insists on playing at my gym…the guy who just want to ask “when is the baby due?”...he shoots better than 16%, so we KNOW that our own Kareem Abdul can)...the frontcourt guys need to play against some lesser athletes so they can learn how to work together – maybe they can come to my gym to go against lactating guy?....we need to see something from Oz, he was good enough to play for Majerus so he must have more than we have seen????!?!?!?!?...but it could be worse folks, how would you like to be the coach of Quinnipiac trying to talk to his team today “Hey, you know those guys that ran us out last Tuesday? Yeah, well, they have taken two 30 point beatings since...but don’t think about that guys, trust me we are still good”...talk about a team that likely has a real confidence problem right about now...Happy Thanksgiving Bobcats!!!!

But on the bright side, Ron Artest’s CD should get plenty of artist driven promotion now, right? Man, people really need some perspective...it was a couple of guys throwing some punches, not good, but not the end of our civilization either…understand the world we live in a little bit, it wasn’t a big deal in the big scheme…as someone who rooted for Juventus of Turin as a kid living in Italy, let The Wall assure you it can be a heck of a lot worse:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heysel_Stadium_disaster

{before someone claims that the Piston-Pacer thing is a sign we are headed that way…it just isn’t, because there is no American tradition of following your team on the road en-masse and our stadiums are “all-seaters”}...but thank goodness all we have to fear at the Palestra is what would happen if you cut in line in front of Governor Rendell...wonder how many state troopers tackle you on the spot?

Nice. Working in Juventus (BIG club, small output) and the Heysel Stadium disaster does lend perspective - but few Yanks (and USofA Micks, for that matter) are likely to understand. Ohhhh, perhaps that was your point!?!

Well, since your Brick and Mason hero thinks that ivybasketball.com probably has the highest average SAT scores of any sports board on the internet (although we need some stats from the WWE.com board before that is official), The Wall assumes that the 20+ crowd deaths at Heysel would make an impression! And Domer, what's with the lack of love for Juve? 27 scudetti, 2 European cups and 3 UEFA cups ain't bad!! Forza Juventus!

Seems to be a lot of panic on the Q-board already..let's keep this in Ashlee Simpson-like performance that the Quakers have put up so far in perspective...these are 2 road games for a young team...remember (at least according to my Quaker media guide -- which was written by the same people that waste server space with stored audio play-by-play of sprint football games, so they may be a little off), the '78-'79 Quakers lost the consolation game of some Xmas tourney by like 25 points to San Diego St...and that season turned out kinda OK if memory serves...those of you joining your favorite roof supporting structure at the 'Stra tomorrow, let's have some positive energy for our Red and Blue!!!!

Wall....OUT
