Truth be told I haven't followed the rest of the league as much this year. So outside of Columbia I really don't have a good feel of who has been playing great. I know Alex Rosenberg has.
So who else may be on the 1st team and who is in the running for POY?
Opinions???

If I had a vote, it'd be for Justin Sears for POY. Bray, McGonagill, Rosenberg for 1st team. Maybe Cotton or Cherry. Harvard will likely get one, but different players stepping up each game. Chambers is most valuable, Saunders is best player, but Moundou-Missi has been most consistent. Curry has stepped it up and Casey may be most important player.
Leland King for ROY.

Player of the Year I have Sears and ROY I like Spencer Weisz or Spieth depending how these last 3 games go for the season.

Bray... 2nd in scoring (league games only), 10th in rebounding, 5th in FG %, T-2nd in assists, 1st in steals/game
Sears... 3rd in scoring, 3rd in rebounding, 2nd in blocked shots
Rosenberg... 1st in scoring, 4th in FT %, T-3rd in steals
Chambers... 1st in assists
Kuakumensah... 5th in rebounding, 15th in scoring, 1st in blocked shots, defensive POY?

Dougherty
It looks like Bray, Sears and Rosenberg are locks for the 1st team... POY will come down to the final weekend. Can go to any of the Top 3.

So, I never know what the coaches or their SID proxies are actually judging when they submit their All-Ivy votes. They certainly seem to value offensive performance massively ahead of defensive ability. And even on the offensive end, the counting stats seem to matter more than the efficiency stats. Then, finally, some look at Ivy play only versus the full season.
Thus, I can't predict the actual teams. I will tell you that Wesley Saunders would be a unanimous first teamer in my book. He is the best two-way player in the league. Justin Sears would join him and should win POY. After that, it will likely be players who are great offensive threats, but less capable defensively. Rosenberg, Bray, Chambers, McGonagill, Hicks, etc. all come to mind. There will also be some guys who are above average on both ends (Kuakumensah, Curry and Lo come to mind).
I don't know who will ultimately win the awards, but if I were starting a team tomorrow, I'd take Sears and Saunders before anyone else.

Sears is not nearly effective on the road as he is at home, and he can be shut down. This isn't an award for most athletic, it is for the player who is the best performer, week in and week out. It is going to go down to the final weekend. In my book it is the guy who can put his team on his back.

While I grant Sears wasn't as consistent in non-conference play, take a look at his numbers in Ivy play. He's using 30-40 percent of possessions and still decently to incredibly efficient. He is the only reason that Yale is remotely close in this chase. Which I assume is what you mean by putting the team on his back. He's not just athletic. He's a crazy effective basketball player both as a scorer and as an interior presence defensively.

Sears was a force of nature in the first half last night against Princeton's bigs but TJ Bray shut him down in the 2nd half and Sears did not help the team in other ways to compensate. I think POY goes to TJ or Saunders, both of whom have all around games and spark their teams when they need it. All three should be locks for 1st team and I'd add Chambers, Frankowski and McGonagle (whose name I can't even spell but of whom others seem to be highly enamored. )

I'd have Sears (PoY), Saunders, Bray, Rosenberg as clear first-teamers. Nobody really stands out for the fifth spot to me; I'd put McGonagill there today, but wouldn't argue with a few others.
I have no doubt Saunders will be a first-teamer, and I think he'll get some PoY support. Coaches everywhere love him.

Using Basketball State's average efficiency in league games you get (not counting Maldunas)
First team: Bray, Sears, Rosenberg, Dougherty, and Moundou-Missi.
Second team: McGonagill, Saunders, Kuac, Curry and Spieth.
Lo would be first Honorable Mention.
Personally, I think Saunders is close to a 1st team lock, as are Bray, Sears and Rosenberg. I bet McG gets the last spot over a second Harvard player because he's a senior and because no consensus develops on who gets the next Crimson vote.
I'd give Sears POY pretty much regardless of what happens this weekend; where are the Bulldogs witout him? Spieth is the likely ROY, though I can't shake the memory of Leland King tearing us up in Newman with 23/12/4.

With really good weekends, the (HM?) guys could earn HM.
POY-Bray. Princeton's brutal opening stretch, alot of it on the road, that left them with three losses by a total of five points, should not detract from his season-long performance. His work on both ends of the court, particularly if the Tigers sweep their remaining three games, merits this award.
ROY-Weisz. Solid the whole season with a particularly strong finish.
Some mention Kyle Casey. I, too, like his game. When he is on the court, he is a major contributor. However, he remains foul-prone, especially for a senior. Whether the refs don't cut him any breaks or he just plain fouls alot, his fouling has limited his playing time to 22MPG, whereas all the others on the AI team play 27 or more, and have the numbers to show it.

Spieth and King should get consideration for ROY, Spieth would be my choice, but I'm afraid they may cancel each other out. The All Rookie Team (if there was one) would be Spieth, King, Weisz, Blackmon and Hobbie.

I was just thinking that. Guys like Moundou-Missi and Curry, with their great stat lines and strong D get left out of the mix for 1st & 2nd team.
Of course, as with the Princeton teams to which you refer, I'll take the record and save the gripes.

Just watched the recording of the Harvard-Yale game and you have to give Sears POY with that performance. An efficient 28 points and 13 boards. He was the only reason Yale was remotely close in that game.

As a Penn season ticketholder who saw everyone except Dartmouth in person and a few additional on TV:
1. POY - Sears
2. All of the top six Harvard players belong on 1st or 2nd team all ivy - they are that much better (No other team plays guys like Casey only 22 minutes). Take your pick where - they could occupy the other 4 first team spots in reality
3. Rosenberg, Bray and McGonnagil for the other three spots

King averaged 17 minutes per game. That's close the half the minutes averaged by Weisz and Spieth. Weisz averages 28 min PG and Spieth averages 32 minutes PG. Yet King's stats are comparable to both. He's getting comparable numbers in half the time. He has also been awarded ROW 4 times.
