RED/WHITE GAME-Cornell's Annual Red-White Game will be held on Saturday at 4:30, immediately following the Cornell-Brown football game. It is open to the public and free.

EXHIBITION GAMES-Cornell has no scheduled public exhibition games. However, Bethune-Cookman will play an exhibition game and Syrcause will play two exhibitions prior to the November 8 tip-off of the Coaches v.Cancer Tournament.

PRESEASON PREDICTIONS-CollegeHoopsNet.com Picked Cornell for 4th place in its season preview. Now there are four publications picking Cornell for 4th place. Lindy’s,Athlon and the Sporting News had also picked Cornell for 4th place while Street and Smith’s picked Cornell for 6th. Blue Ribbon Yearbook will hit stores in late October and is also available on ESPN.com for "Insider Subscription Members."

ROSTER GETS TRIMMED-Robert Burris, a 6-5 guard is no longer on the Cornell roster. Cornell is now left with 14 players. Burris played in Cornell's deepest position, small forward and was competing for reserve minutes behind Lenny Collins with junior Jason Mitchell, senior David Lisle and highly regarded freshman Conor Mullen. Burris was arguably the "14th man" on the 15 man roster.

RECRUITING-Earlier this fall, Air Force secured commitments from three Texans in 6-5 Spencer Oestreich of Sherman HS, 6-8 Bobby Fenske of Trinity Christian Academy, and 6-3 Stephen Sauls of Fort Bend Marshall HS. Cornell and Dartmouth had previously made offers to Oestrich and Fenske while Columbia and other Ivies wanted Sauls. Texas Hoops now reports that Air Force has taken yet another Texas prospect from Cornell and the Ivies. Zach Walker, 6-8 of St. Mark’s committed to Air Force. He was being heavily recruited by Cornell. Meanwhile, outside of the Lone Star State, Cornell can also give up hope on landing a recruit from Lenny Collins’ alma mater, Santa Margarita H.S. in sunny southern California. The team’s three key seniors have all signed elsewhere—James Keefe 6-8 (to UCLA), Mychal Thompson Jr. 6-3 (to Saint Mary’s), and Jon Gunderson 6-5 (to Santa Clara). Unless there are some unknown Cornell commitments out there, Cornell is having its worst recruiting year in the last ten years. Not only has Cornell failed to pick-up any commitments, but the Big Red does not even have any realistic “top notch" prospects left on the public boards. Cornell’s top prospect—Jake Worley, a 6-5 high school journeyman, appears primed to commit to Yale unless a scholarship opens up at Indiana or Stanford. Cornell’s other top prospect, 6-2 John Pietkiewicz is solid, but is receiving plenty of scholarship attention close to his home in Florida. Finally, among the frontcourt recruits, Canadian Andre Wilkins (6-5) seems to be directing his attention towards Brown. Other prospects such as 6-1 Imad Qahwash, 6-9 Nick Jones and 6-1 James Florence appear headed to high major conferences. Unless it is mere coincidence, I suspect the loss of top assistant Paul Fortier played a pivotal part in the program’s recruiting
struggles this year.

SCHEDULE-The opener vs. St. Francis (Pa) has been bumped from a start time of 5:30 pm to 6 pm.

HAPPY "LATE" ZINCK'S NIGHT TO ALL CORNELLIANS! GO BIG RED!
