Most of the major and mid-major confrence teams are into league play (not the Ivies). It's hard to find anyone to play and most coaches would prefer to play anyone rather than no one.

My presumption is that the Harvard-Siena series was supposed to be that game and that it was cancelled too late in the game to get a suitable replacement. Rather than sign up for an RPI-killing home-and-home with a mediocre D-I program, Harvard made the smart move and filled the slot with an off-the-books tune up for the Ivy slate.

Good information, thanks. Do you think this previously scheduled series with Siena may start next year, or is this over?

Regarding other conferences' schedules, how far off others' schedules is the Ivy league schedule?

If this game is with the Ryerson from Toronto, ON, that team had a pretty good record this past season,
Overall: 30 - 6
League (OUA): 17 - 2
Home: 20 - 1
Away: 10 - 3

They came in 3rd in the Canadian (CIS Final 8) National Championship Tournament last year.

They also appear to have a game scheduled the day following their January 12 visit to Boston, Jan. 13, back on their home court in Toronto, (25 hours later). So, I suppose they must have really wanted to play at Harvard, since they'll have fun flying back that night or the following AM, and going through Customs Canada, eh?

Men's Schedule is now posted on the HMBB Website:

http://gocrimson.com/sports/mbkb/2015-16/s chedule

Any new thoughts? My first take is that this is perhaps the strongest schedule we've seen for some time, with Kansas, BYU, Providence, the 3 other best Massachusetts teams (BC, BU, UMass), and perhaps further stiff competition in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.

Ironic that this is during somewhat of a rebuilding year, especially with Siyani out. Perhaps a blessing in disguise, in that no matter how we do, it should enable more future games with strong mid-majors and also high majors?

Brown has PC, Georgetown, URI and SMU. Pretty tough non-con. schedule.

With the right mix of teams at the Diamond Head, it should surpass the 2012-13 schedule as toughest of the Amaker era. Ironically, that was the other time that the expectations for the Crimson dipped, and despite that Harvard won two Top 100 road non-conf games and was very close in a few others.

Kind of crazy that with movement in yesterday's polls, Harvard has played both the #1 and #2 teams in the nation and played them both into the last five minutes of the game.

Harvard should just move to a tropical island because it plays very well in those environments.

Hey, look at that, Bryn Athyn beat Wilson tonight 64-63. Sure they're 1-9 now, but watch out, they're gonna be on a roll when they get to Jadwin next weekend.

Ryerson is around 680 in Massey. Bryn Athyn is around 2000.

Bryn Athyn is horrible, even by non-D-I standards. Not sure what Princeton will get out of this game. It'd be way more competitive to scrimmage the first team against the second team.

More about getting back to a routine than anything else, after reading period. Everybody gets to play. By late January most schools are deep into their conference schedules. Not that easy to find an available patsy....

Yeah... It's just that there are so many non-D-Is that one could play with a wide variety of skill levels. Playing a D-II or D-III (or Canadian school) that is good enough to give the worst teams in D-I a game would still allow everyone to play without being an insane mismatch.

Ryerson looked very athletic and has a strong record in its Canadian league. I haven't bothered to watch most of the patsies Ivy teams have played, but Ryerson and McGill looked much better than Binghampton. I've got to assume that Binghampton is much better than a Pine Manor program as Pine Manor went coed last year.

Fortunately for Harvard, MIT has had Div. III playoff caliber teams. Some of these other matchups are mind numbing.

The AD is Ms. Mollie Marcoux, Jadwin Gymnasium, Princeton Univ., Princeton, NJ 08540. She will have the last word on any suggestions you submit.

PU has to maintain its standard of playing the weakest tune-up opponent in the league. If you go Ryerson, we see your Ryerson and blow you away with the Welsh-named school.
