While there does not appear to be anything up on the school site for next year's schedule, a Binghamton area news site noted that the Bearcats will be coming down to Philly to play Penn on 1/2/16.

Binghamton is a wasted gate anyway, so why not Sat Jan 2? All the NFL games appear to be Sunday that weekend. Figure the same start time of the NCAA Div 1 psuedo-playoff of 8:30 pm (recently Ohio St vs Alabama), and tip the Quakers-Bearcats late afternoon.
Allows time for a New Year's dinner before the bowl game, for those who may have had an outstanding New Year's Eve.

Two years ago Harvard hosted BC on New Year's Day at 4:00pm. The game sold out early and tickets were going for 4x face value online.
I know that Lavietes is small and BC/Harvard is an intra-city matchup, but it did seem to be a welcomed option as there was little else to do at 4pm on New Year's day. On the other hand, scheduling an opponent that draws students from the Philly area during a school break (Binghampton?) will help sell tickets. Danger is that the fans will be rooting for the visting team. This happened when Harvard hosted UMass last Thankgiving.

UMass and BC playing in Boston is a little different than Penn hosting Binghamton. Penn hasn't had a meaningful home game over the holiday is years. I think they may have had LaSalle a few days after New Years recently, but they're usually on the road or playing teams like Binghamton. They played Davidson (pre-Steph) about a decade ago, and they were lucky if there were 1500 in the stands. If Penn can't get kids to come to the Princeton game when most of them are officially back (but class has yet to begin) what chance do they have of filling the Palestra against anyone over the holidays? John Q public sure doesn't care anymore.

Yes, I don't know how you seriously can compare a Harvard-BC rivalry game to a game between Penn and one of the worst teams in Div 1 (I generously am not putting Penn in that classification now) with which Penn has no rivalry. And since when does SUNY Binghamton draw students from Philly?

Good choice, if we are going to play a Pac-10 team. They were crushed in their league last year (also lost at home to Stony Brook) and will be playing in the Atlantis tournament through the 27th---so they could be tired after a long flight and 3 games in 4 days.

Yeah, that really stinks. They make a big deal of the Big 5, but then schedule a game sure to have no students in attendance.
Wasn't one of the requirements in the new HC search an appreciation of the Big 5's place in the city and Penn's tradition? It's one thing to schedule Monmouth or somebody the night before Thanksgiving, but LaSalle?!

I'll be there too, but the sound of your voice excitedly talking about Trump will be heard on the broadcast between Seltzie and Vinnie's witticisms because no one else will be there.

Are you inviting me to sit with you? My voice is not loud enough to be overheard unless I am sitting in the rich alumni seats.

Sure, that's the one game I know that I'll have extra seats.
And just win a case---you'll have the money for the bargain that is a Penn seatback season's ticket ($25 per game).

It's not the money. It's the fact that the Holy Sabbath prevents me from going to the vast majority of home games.
