Looks like he's a guard that grew into a centers body, from what I could tell from YouTube he had good handle and deep range. He could sit behind Nana for a year and develop into a good player, I hope we get him.

Sound like anyone else we know? His name escapes me, but I believe he plays for the Atlanta Hawks. Agree, this would be a great get.

Mike was exactly 6-9 205 lbs entering his senior year, identical to where Bruninga is now.

Doubt he will develop into another Mike Muscala, but might become a very good PL player.

I'm not starting a 2019 list yet, but it's worth noting that 6-0 PG Evan Buckley, a sophomore from Virginia, was at Sojka today for an unofficial visit. He already holds a Bison offer, plus ones from American and UNH.

I'm wondering when/if our third 2017 scholarship will be accepted.

I am bad at following the new recruits. Does anybody have an idea of what we are looking for? C, PF, SF, SG, PG, or combo?
GO BISON!

jkrun80, thanks for the info. With how well Muscala is doing in the NBA and the great performance that Foulland had against the whole PL and WVU, I think that any Big who is looking to improve over 4 years should seriously consider Bucknell. I would love to see a long, lean, and athletic shot-blocker/rebounding machine. The offensive post game will come around over time.

Nana's improvement has been very impressive, particularly within the course of this latest season, and on both ends of the floor.

I would like to see an inside presence but for me, I'd like to see a strong inside banger, not necessarily "long and lean." Bruce is lean and I think more muscle inside is needed. Also an athletic wing wouldn't be a bad thing, a guy who can finish at the rim and hit an outside shot.

Phillie, I don't know about you, but Bruce Moore looks very big and muscular to me.

I agree that Bruce is muscular, but to me he is lean. I'm thinking more of a Tarik Viaer-McClymont or Darren Mastropaolo type with a touch more athleticism perhaps.

At this point we may have to settle for anybody 6'8" or taller who can hold a basketball in two hands. We'll just have to hope good coaching and practicing against Nana every day develops them into a solid player.

I have a lot of faith in Coach Davis and the staff. I suspect they know what they want and what's available with this scholarship. They could have settled last fall and they didn't.

Any recruit who saw us play this year has to have been impressed. And we need a big BADLY but we've got three scholarships next year.
Question: if we only used two schollies this year would we have four next year?

I was being semi-sarcastic. I have a great deal of faith in the staff. I'm sure the guys they've targeted for the 3rd scholarship are all quality players. Mid-majors generally have to seek out the diamonds-in-the-rough and hope they can develop. Worked out well with Mike and Nana.

Is there any logic to holding one back if our junior year targets are superior? Also, what if we have a legit recruit who doesn't need the athletic scholly but could have an a academic package pay the costs! For example, good student, low income family? Lastly, and sorry for all the questions, but have ever thought of splitting a scholly in half?

1. It might make sense to hold one back if they can't get a big man who is capable of starting down the road. In an ideal world, however, they would get one in this year so he could spend a year learning the system and D1 ball before being asked to be a major contributor.
2. Assuming a player is "recruited", if he gets any aid from the college - even need-based aid or most academic scholarships - he counts against the limit of 13 scholarships.
3. Basketball is one of the few sports where scholarships cannot be split.

Thanks 137. Seems like there is little flexibility allowed thus preventing us from being creative.
