Transfers to join his twin, starts every game, averages 9 ppg. leaves to back to Florida Atlantic. Homesick. Go figure.

Something is confused. Justin played for FAU, Jason has always been a Bear.

It's Justin that transferred back to FAU. Jason remains at Brown.

Thanks, MRJ, I may have contributed to the confusion. Brown has three returning from the reserves, all guards, who haven't played this year, but are now available, plus Daugherty who has missed the last few games. Justin will be missed, he was good, but I don't think this will be like losing King last year.

I think the confusion was that the thread is named for Jason when it's Justin who is leaving.
No, I agree this isn't like losing King. But it is losing for the 2nd year in a row your most versitile offensive player, probably your 2nd best offensive player, and the best athlete on the team - as a sophomore.. Mid season.
It's tough man. They're a better team with him on it. I really like what I saw from him the last few games.
The good news if any is that the 2/3 is the one spot where they have real depth - if guys get healthy. So Hobbie slots into the starting 2 I'm guessing and it opens up a spot for either Haber, Triplett or Okolie if / when they return.
LET'S go BRU-no (duh. nuh. nuh-nuh-nuh) |

It's hard enough trying to become successful at a traditionally second-tier Ivy basketball program. But when you lose a talented sophomore who showed much promise, that hurts. He was also a good addition to the defensive side of the court. His shot was just starting to come around and his game had much promise. Hobby is a fine shooter but is primarily effective when left alone. He is not someone who can make his own shot, drive effectively or get out on the break. I haven't heard much about Okolie's injury but my sense is that he won't contribute this year. I will certainly agree Justin was not the natural scorer that King had rapidly become. But anytime Brown loses an athlete with much potential like Justin is a real tough lose.

Okolie, Williams and Triplett will all be ready to play, Dougherty by January, if not sooner.

That sounds promising OB. And not a moment too soon. I'll be listening to the game this evening with hopes of hearing some of those names mentioned. Triplet is a coaches son with a good hoop IQ. He also seemed to have trimmed down from his freshman season when I saw him at an open scrimmage this fall. Williams has a year under his belt and Okolie's potential is intriguing. Thanks
