Bell in with three fouls. He needs to attack off the dribble as much as possible.

I never want to hear another whine from a Lion fan about the officiating after this debacle. CU is practically in the double bonus with over twelve minutes left.

Castlin gets a foul call on a layup and doesn't even realize he was hit, jogging back down court. Fortunately, Cook is playing great and Weisz was before sitting with fouls. A lot of guys are going to be in foul trouble down the stretch for the Tigers.

Columbia goes zone with seven minutes left, Weisz burns them for another trey. Interesting to see if Smith sticks with it.

Up 10 with 5:42 left. CU sticking with soft press and 2-3 zone. Henderson timeout. Come out of it and turn it over, then give up an OR and a Rosenberg bucket. Come on!

Bell misses two FTs, but then Weisz Ds up Lo on the arc and Lo turns it over trying to drive it past him. Good sign.

Lead down to six with 2:53 left after a PU shot-clock violation. Tigers tight against the zone and CU keeps hitting layups.

Huge Cook trey with the shot clock almost gone! Then CU turns it over. Then Cannady does it, but Rosenberg manages a trey in response. Now up 7 with 1:08 left and the ball. Got to finish, probably going to have to hit some FTs; right now only 50% at the line.

Cannady fouled by the Lion press with the ten-second clock almost out. He knocks down two, up nine with :58 left.

Caruso misses two FTs, and Mullins hits another layup. Bell fouled--he'd better come through this time to maintain the lead. And...he bricks the first off the heel, bricks the second. Going to lose this at the FT line. Then a dumb foul to put Mullins at the line. Not exactly how you want to finish, but fortunately Mullins misses the first FT.

Tigers use their last timeout trying to inbound the ball, up 6 with :28 seconds left. I have a bad feeling about this, hope I'm wrong.

Caruso misses yet another FT. Epic collapse imminent. Second one goes in to push the lead to 7, but Lo hits the layup and now Cannady at the line with :21 left. Announcers are cluelessly talking about everything except the game, which is still very tense. Cannady relieves the pressure with two more FTs, but then another stupid foul on Caruso puts Lo on the line with :17.8 left. He misses the first! Second drops.

Nice job holding off Columbia's final push.
Earl was right about Caruso and Co. evening out their icy shooting from the last game. Even though Cannady had a quiet game, he STILL found a way to be clutch with the big 3 and 4/4 FTs when no one else could hit them.
Yale is going to win out. We need to do the same and win the playoff.

Caruso finally makes a FT! And a second. Up 8, Cohen banks in a trey with :03.9 left, CU timeout. Feeling much better up 5, but still a chance for a gut-wrenching ending.
Guts unwrenched when home-run pass saved from out of bounds and the ball tossed high in the air.
Whew!

Have to give MH props for having a logical game plan to run the Lions off the three-point line even if it meant giving up some drives. That made the difference, with CU going 4-12 from three. Pretty good job on Rosenberg and Lo; Cohen exploited a mismatch against Miller on the perimeter to drive in for nine layups.
I doubt he planned on giving up so many ORs to Columbia or all those FTs, both of which were out of character, but fortunately the Tigers compensated with red-hot shooting from the field: 13-21 from three, 18-28 from two. FT shooting was poor at 13-24, but Columbia was also subpar at 17-27.
Vintage Weisz with 4-7 from three, 2-2 from two, 0-1 from the line, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 0 TOs, 3 fouls. Cook was fabulous with 5-6 from three, 3-5 from two, 2-4 from the line, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, two TOs, and 2 fouls. Caruso very good as well in his usual efficient way. When those three guys are that hot at the same time, it doesn't matter too much that Bell and Cannady underperformed their averages (Stephens was hot, though).

I concur after watching the game at Jadwin.
Issac Cohen played a great game. Lo got it going offensively after the Tigers had a 16 point lead with 10 minutes to go.
Bottom line is that Tigers are more athletic and have more weapons. Cook, Weisz and Caruso (juniors) outplayed seniors Lo, Rosenberg and Mullins. Bell/Miller/Brennan were very disappointing. Stephens and Cannady just bring so much energy as freshmen.
Very important win but a long way to get to the promised land but the Tigers are good.

Current RPI is 33. I know we're not an at-large contender (no marquee wins), but if we manage to eke past Yale, I think we'd avoid the play-in weekend and get a decent seed.
But I'm still apprehensive about a potential Yale playoff. Their size still scares me, and if I were a betting man, I'd favor them by a hair. Get there first and *then* worry, I suppose...

Princeton appears to have found its groove, but home games will do that - the depth may have help road woes, but another way to look at it is they lost to Yale, and should have lost to Penn and Columbia. So take nothing for granted against Harvard and Dartmouth.
Columbia - Yale game will be interesting - a Yale team with little depth playing Saturday on an emotional senior night for Columbia. Columbia could be eliminated already, but I'd expect them to come to play.
