Here's a question for you, P38. If Penn is currently 6th in the Ivy in kenpom, but 4th in the league standings, does that performance indicate good coaching? Something else?
Penn is currently nearly 60 spots behind Harvard, and about 30 behind Dartmouth, yet we lead both in the standings.

I think it's coaching. I think the stat guys would say there's a chunk of luck involved.
But I have been very impressed with Steve D.'s coaching, Stu's criticism of the last 10 seconds before halftime against Columbia notwithstanding. My view is that we are extremely unathletic compared, well, with pretty much everyone in the League yet are treading water with a 5-6. I just wish I got to see this team with Hicks and Woods in the Ivies. They would have caused some matchup problems and allowed our freshmen to develop a little more slowly (not a bad thing, IMO)

does the fact that the team has been better without woods mean nothing?
how have you made me hate the term athletic? I led a fan club for Duane King, for fux sake.

Well, he wasn't a good player. Woods was, and was only a soph. He would have been a helluva player.
But don't tell me you think we can win with a starting backcourt of Silpe and Donahue?
