Starting this thread. There are already 31 outstanding offers that I've seen. Likely more in total. This is a lot more than were out there in mid-March last year.

Interestingly, 16 of the 31 offers are to players south of D.C. And of the seven PA recruits, only two are from eastern half of the state. Very unusual geographic pattern so far.

The Bison received a commitment from Rick Mottram 6-2 225 lb LB (NJ) - Allentown HS. Also a TE/FB. Was the Trenton Area DPOY and 2nd team All-State Group IV (large schools).

Rick Mottram is the Trenton Defensive Player of the Year

"A linebacker, Mottram was second in the state in tackles with 143. As a sophomore he was in on 138 tackles. This season he also came up with four fumble recoveries, had one interception and two sacks.

A junior, he also played offense. As a short-yardage back he ran 42 times for 348 yards and eight touchdowns. At tight end he made eight catches for 220 yards and two touchdowns."

Interesting that 50+ HS players from Michigan are attending the Ohio State camp Friday and then the Bison camp Saturday. I wonder if there was some coordination involved between Susan and OSU associate head coach Greg Schiano.

The Bison received a commitment from Alex Twiford 6-3 230 lb TE (PA) from Wilson HS. He caught 33 passes for 460 yards and 3 TD's. Also rushed for 5 TD's as a short yardage FB. Wilson went 9-1 during last year's regular season before losing in OT in the second round of the AAAA playoffs.

Twiford was a recruiting target for the Bison, having received his offer back in February. He also had offers from Cornell, Robert Morris, and possibly others.

He was recently named to the PA coaches list of top rising seniors. Was All L-L league the past two years

They weren't on Bucknell's radar, but Bison WR Marcus Ademilola's younger brothers both just committed to Notre Dame. Jayson is a 6-foot-3, 285-pound DL, and Justin is a 6-3, 240-pound OLB. The two are twins and rising HS seniors.

Another Bison commitment: PJ Barr 6-4 275 lb OL (NJ) - St. Joseph (Metuchen). Also had offers from Bryant, Lafayette, and Robert Morris. He is the third commitment - one OL, one LB, one TE.

I had seen that earlier today - but can find no confirmation. Bitikofer's twitter account, which confirms his offer, has nothing about a Bucknell commitment. I am skeptical.

Thanks. Biticofer is a fairly big pro style QB. Listed in some places as 6-3 200. As a junior, he completed 122-219 (56%) for 1609 yards and 22 TD's vs only 3 INT's. Carried the ball 47 times for 152 yards (which includes negative yardage from sacks). Only has been his team's punter for two years.

Highlight video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL7glcDgzHg

Bitikofer plays for New Philadelphia HS (OH), which is in Ohio's Division 3 (out of 7) and is located about 90 miles west of Pittsburgh. South of Canton. Team went 8-2 last year in the regular season, and then lost to a very strong team in States. The two regular season losses were also to good teams.

Commitment from Justis Peppers, 6-5 300 lb OL/DT from VA. Had offers from New Hampshire, Liberty, VMI, Cornell, and a few D2's.

BU's biggest recruiting need - except perhaps for a stud QB - is for players on the OL and at DT, so this is a nice commitment.

After watching the game on SAT with VMI attempting over 50 passes with no Bison sacks (0), I would say anyone who can rush the passer is the top recruiting need. DB's can look good or bad depending on whether the QB is hurried or sacked. We had little to no pressure all day.

Hopefully, the new recruit you list here is related to Julius Peppers!

And how do our kickers keep getting injured, both punter and PK? Strange and important.

I was thinking the same thing. There's little contact involved with kicking, especially in practice. In fact, we seem to incur an unusual number of practice injuries compared to other PL teams. Is it related to the coaching style or are we just that unlucky?

I think part of it is simply bad luck, since it varies a lot by year. As for the kickers, the starting punter and place kicker is the same guy - Alex Pechin, who made 1st team All-PL as a frosh. He got hurt during warmups prior to Cornell. I'm assuming some sort of pulled muscle or groin injury, but I have no idea. The freshman on the roster, who was All-Pennsylvania last year, got hurt sometime prior to the opener and hasn't suited up yet.

The current junior class had a very good kicker in it - Connor Feehan from Virginia - who reportedly had won the starting job in preseason camp as a frosh. But unfortunately he developed a serious foot problem, tried to kick through it, had his season shut down, and need serious surgery with a long recovery period. He transferred out at the end of the year and I have no idea if he has played football again.

Given the success of our women's soccer team, maybe Coach Susan should recruit one of them as a PK.

Comparing injury levels across the PL haphazard at best given the differing disclosure policies. At Lehigh unless it is a starter unlikely we will ever hear about it.

Who needs to worry about disclosure policies when you have Bison 137?

This is truly an informative board?

And here's a mystery for our Bison posters:

Does anyone know why we put a fullback or tight end in motion and then he returns to the same spot where he started? Huh?

Would have to see the plays, but sometimes it is designed to glean some information about the defense. That is especially true when a team puts a WR in motion.

Just my humble opinion, but we need more misdirection and plays that confuse the defense. More play action and counter-type plays. Our offense looks plain vanilla to me after watching the whole VMI game in person.

And is DeFloria now injured? He was doing Ok early in that game and then Freshnock (who was superb) carried every play starting in the 2nd quarter. Why not mix in a speedy, change of pace back?

To me it looked like DeFloria suffered a concussion. He was on the sideline in the second half without his helmet which is a clear sign of a concussion since the trainers usually take tthe players helmets away when they suffer one.

You have to wonder, given the players the Bison are losing to concussion these days, how many players whose "bells were rung," back in the day, were seriously injured.

Unfortunately, as we've seen with the NFL, way too many players returned to play without adequate recovery time and are now suffering from CTE or other problems. I'm sure that is also the case with a number of players who only played college ball. I think the newer helmets have created more problems than they have prevented.

,Will be updating this list soon, as there have been a number of offers. Also two new commitments who look good:

1. Marquis Carter, 6-0 205 lb RB (NY) from The Rochester suburb of Pittsford. He missed the first few games with an injury but since his return has been averaging 175+ ypg and over 2 TDs per game. For a good 2A team. Has had a number of spectacular runs in just six games, as this senior highlight video shows:

http://www.hudl.com/video/3/3847294/57ea7 be9688ec4...

2. Simeon Page 6-0 225 lb LB (Utah) - committed to Air Force last year, after almost switching to Bucknell, and played for the Air Force Academy Prep School in August and September before leaving and contacting Joe Susan. Will enroll at Bucknell in January and be a part of the 2017 recruiting class.

Page was a two-time 1st team all-state LB (5A, Utah's largest class), and led the state in tackles both years. Has a Nike-documented 40 time of 4.62, which is very fast for an ILB. He also won the state championship in wrestling at 220. I suspect he was overlooked by larger schools due to his height, but so was Evan Byers, who became one of the top few LBs in PL history. The Bison previously have had two players who transferred in from Navy, CJ Williams and Doug Whitlock, and both became very good players. I expect Page to do likewise.

Page's highlight video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AiYGCbPRrzA&a mp;feat...

Page wins final wrestling match

The Philadelphia Inquirer mentioned that 6'4" 295# Senior LG Jackson Evans from St Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia is weighing scholarship offers from Air Force, Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh. Evans is team captain. SJP is in the state A state semi-finals.

Recruiting has been going slowly, although there have been a number of new offers that I am behind on. In the past few days, BU has had two new commitments however:

1. Ryan Brida 6-0 205 lb LB (PA) from Henderson H.S. in West Chester. He had 137 tackles and 3 sacks in 13 games for a 9-4 5A team.

2. Clay Myers 6-2 270 lb DE/OL from Pittsburgh powerhouse Central Catholic, the WPIAL 6A champion and the #2 team in the state.

There are ten commits that have been identified:

Barr, PJ . OL . 6-4 275 lbs ( NJ )
Bitikofer Logan . QB . 6-3 200 lbs ( OH ) …
Brida, Ryan . LB . 6-0 205 lb (PA)
Carter, Marquis . RB . 6-0 205 lb (NY)
Herman, Blais . WR 6-3 205 lbs (TX)
Mottram, Rick . LB . 6-2 225 lbs ( NJ )
Myers, Clay . DE/OL . 6-2 270 lb DE/OL (PA)
Page, Simeon . LB . 6-0 225 lb (Utah)
Peppers, Justis . OL/DT . 6-5 300 lb (VA)
Twiford, Alex . TE/DE . 6-3 225 lbs ( PA )

I think the biggest need as of now is another good OL, a DT, and a CB. LB is a position of strength, already having a good freshman at that position and now adding a few - to a base defense that only uses two LB's. However it is possible that one of the new recruits might slide to the safety position that is really a hybrid LB in the 4-2-5.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is another committed player or two who has not been identified btw.

Clearly destined for greatness, as Henderson is my alma mater.

Live near Frisco, TX and every year watch the football finals. For the past two years, have predicted Bison could make the playoffs and had my hopes killed by injuries. Like the team they have next year and see several of the holes being filled by the incoming class. Would love this to be the year.

BU announced four more recruits. None are new, however, having all committed back in February. Not sure why some who commit close to signing day always show up in a much later press release. I think they are late recruits who either haven't been vetted by Admissions yet or who are true walk-ons.

Alex Bolinger OL 6-3 260 Haddonfield (NJ)

John McGuire WR 6-1 210 Don Bosco Prep (NJ)

David McWilliams WR 5-10 180 Fairview (CO)

Conner Romango SAF 5-11 190 Fox Chapel Area (PA)

I think McWilliams looks like an interesting prospect. McGuire may end up as the hybrid WR/TE that Susan often employs. Or maybe a FB.

The Bison just added a late signee who had committed to Army last summer: Simon Behr 6-4 225 lb DE/LB/TE. He also started at QB for a strong Franklin Regional squad, a 5A team just outside of Pittsburgh. Threw for 12 TDs and rushed for eight. At the college level, however, it appears that he will either play LB/DE, which was his #1 position in HS or else TE. Behr also reportedly had offers from Yale, Harvard, and Princeton.
