Got to figure Amaker and Jones at least are on the short list. Might also open up yet another WCC opportunity for Smith if Randy Bennett wants the job.

It would be time for Jones to cash in, but Stanford is too big a leap for him, no? Would Amaker leave that recruiting class? And I can't imagine JTIII leaving Georgetown.

Every year I'm shocked Gtown hasn't let him go.

His predecessor, Craig Esherick, was worse.

Georgetown has only been a good job when a Thompson has made it so.

Kit, that's relative:
"The 2015-16 season was also the worst Georgetown men’s basketball season in over 44 years, as the Hoyas have not had a worse winning percentage (.455) since the 1971-72 season when they finished 3-23 in the final year of coach John Magee’s tenure. John Thompson Jr. took over the following season."

Esherick never made the NCAAs. JTIII has been to a Final Four.

I swear I'm not being passive-aggressive when I say that Mitch Henderson would be a great hire.
He's superb with Xs-and-Os and finding recruiting gems in the rough -- his teams just don't show up for the high-pressure games. But when you play in a major conference, 1-2 chokes don't break you like they do in the Ivy. Going 22-10 and 2-4 against marquee teams is plenty enough for the NCAAs.
And if/when MH does eventually leave, it'd be nice to leave us a loaded squad to ease the transition.
