With four Top 100 players (Chris Lewis, Bryce Aiken, Robert Baker and Seth Towns), Harvard finishes with the No. 10 2016 recruiting class. Notable teams in the 11-20 range include: UNC, Texas, Indiana, Xavier and Maryland. Pretty amazing stuff.
1 Kentucky
2 Duke
3 Arizona
4 Michigan State
5 Mississippi State
6 UCLA
7 Kansas
8 Virginia
9 Connecticut
10 Harvard

This is a remarkable year for Crimson basketball recruiting. On the other hand, it can't be duplicated as four - seven player classes with four top 100 players isn't sustainable or desirable (without bigger buses and benches or the ability to enter two squads in the Ivy League tournament!).
The ripple effect can be witnessed immediately. Verbal Commits reports Yale has already made 24 offers! Can this be true? Also, that same site reflects that each of the three current Class of 2017 Harvard offerees has been offered by other Ivies as well.
The playing field has already changed!

I'd imagine that the 2017 Harvard class will be 3-4 recruits. Most likely areas of focus will be wing shooters/defensive stoppers and post players.
There's a lot more going on than what's on Verbal Commits. The Yale offers are definitely overblown, but I'd expect them to take a big class.

Thanks for the info. Interested to see if Tommy can recruit to a new level. Stocked Ivy League will be fun! A Brave New World! Wonder if the dominance of Duke and the competitiveness of Stanford and Cal prestaged this interest from recruits.

I know the verbal commits guy kind of disputed it when i made the comment earlier, but i think Harvard is keeping who it is involved with a little less public now. They've already increased their profile enough.
Yale may be doing the opposite -- they may trying to pump up their profile.

I'm sure there's some truth to that. On the other hand, it appears some schools are trying to increase their profile and hoping for a larger class with some higher quality recruits. As Mike just observed, Harvard is seeking a few silver bullets, hopefully at the 4* level. Thus, Harvard may not to spray out offers for spots it doesn't want to fill.
This should support observations over how Harvard's 2016 class will help the rest of the league. There have to be a multitude of talented 2017 recruits who are open to Ivy offers. With Harvard likely looking elsewhere, time to stock up!
