It will be interesting to see where it falls in terms of SOS. IMO a cursory glance suggests that it is fairly neutral, if ever so slightly tilted to teams with stronger RPIs. Most of those stronger teams are in league games.

The Big Green gets a projected AP top 25 Rhody team right out the gate. An upset win would be great start for Coach Mac and the Team. With the Big Green returning 64% of last years scoring and rebounding it could be a closer game than Rhody fans expect.

Looks like a decent schedule. We will be lucky to go .500, so probably about right.

Bart Torvik began adding scheduled non-conference games into the early early 2017 T-Rank projections.

It will be interesting to compare to KenPom.com results when the data is available.

I like the schedule--hard, but every game winnable... In looking at the statistical projections, I thought we'd be ranked higher. I still think, with Boudreaux and Wright a year older, we'll be top 4 in the Ivy and above .500.

Nice to see other posters taking the lead for The Dartmouth board! Thank you GBGB!

If not this year, next year we will leap forward with Sistare and Carter in the mix. And hopefully Brandon Barry is as good as he looks on YouTube at the PG. Cam Smith is a hard worker so I'm sure he will also help us at the PG role.

The future is bright. Looking forward to the season.

While I agree that good talent is incoming, at present, I think we will run into the same problems that we had throughout the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. There were years when our starting five was as good as anyone's, but we just didn't have the depth to get over the hump and win a title.

Maybe the Ivy tournament will help.

The biggest unknown going into these early ratings is the impact of the new coach and the incoming players. Returning 64% of last year's production should provide enough veteran player leadership to guide the 6 incoming players.

I agree with hoopla that if what we see online translates to the next level the future is really bright.

Coach Mac's "work team" culture should take root. The guys who are there seem to want to be there (no transfers and no decommitments). If any of the incoming players can contribute and the coach retains his winning ways, The Big Green (TBG) might just surprise folks. There is too much NEW in my opinion to link this team totally to the past making the early ratings for TBG unreliable.

Not saying I disagree with the projection of Princeton as Ivy favorite, but how can anyone leave out Siyani Chambers? He's on the roster.

"Darthmouth has lost several players to graduation, but the vast majority of starters are returning. However, Darthmouth is going to have to improve in every category in order to compete for the top spot in the Ivy League. "

Even setting aside the misspelling of the school, just because we have to improve everywhere to compete for the title doesn't necessarily mean that we're going to finish near the bottom.

Returning your starters and a significant amount of your bench, those teams will be heavily weighted favorites early on. When there should be some offset for "Past performance does not guarantee future results". However, Amaker is saying Princeton is deserving of their top seeding.

They did drop a game in their European tour the other day, but so did UCLA.

You can check Amaker thoughts out here:

hoopla, we weren't to far of in our off the cuff analysis...

Here's what the projected RPI rank of a bubble team would be against every high major team's current schedule. Anything between 40-60 here means the schedule is pretty neutral. Lower than 35 is a sign of RPI gaming. Higher than 65 = bad schedule.

Yeah I think it is a good schedule. Perfect amount of challenge vs winability. I'll be surprised if we don't continue to get better and I'm thinking 15-16 Ws and a 4th place Ivy finish.

Harvard (with Syani back) and Princeton with everyone back are top 2

Yale might be next...

If we can't rise to #3 or #4 this year that would be unfortunate

Columbia (has talent but lost a ton), Brown, Penn (on the mend but still rebuilding), Yale (lost Sears and Sharrod), Cornell (good new coach and great guardplay but they're still sifting through rubble)

I'm hoping the Big Green get the 3rd or 4th spot. The chemistry should be better this year across whole the team. If the coach gets buy-in, which shouldn't be hard if he brings a winning attitude and builds culture likewise, the 3rd or 4th spot is plausible.

I like what I'm hearing out of Hanover, let's see what develops.
