According to multiple reports
2017 Reed Farley has committed to Harvard.

Seriously-- where else would somebody named Reed Farley go?

He'll have some work to do to crack the rotation, but it's a strong strategic pickup for Harvard for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is maintaining its relationship with the high academic West Coast AAU program Earl Watson Elite - three straight classes with a combo guard/wing from that program.

Harvard has one spot left in its class, and this is good news for how that spot could get filled.

Considering the caliber of recruits in 2016 class, this commitment was a bit of head scratcher based on Farley's offers/rankings (I was assuming AI booster which I'd still guess is accurate). If my guess is right, then even better if it also keeps a pipeline open.

Based on your last comment, assume you're thinking this also means Harvard staff thinks they have a chance with one if longer shot top 5 guys?

Well, I agree that everyone has been saying that the Top 5 guys have no chance (or long shots at best) of committing, but I've always been (the most?) bullish.

I know everyone thinks I'm crazy, but it's more than just a chance. If you gave me even odds in an appropriately liquid market, I'd probably take them.

Yep know you've been bullish and honestly you never know with kids who are very smart in addition to very good players. What odds are you thinking if you had to put a number? 25% chance of picking Harvard?

Yeah, I mean, I only like to play the guessing game when I can guess yes or no and that's it. For the Top 5 kids, it's a lot more complicated. Maybe someone who knows more than I will correct me, but I don't think that Harvard assembles the class it has thus far without feeling pretty good that it's going to add a final impact piece. We'll see, but I'd think the 50/50 neighborhood that Harvard lands one seems somewhat fair.
