This Projo article suggests the starting lineup will be the three senior captains at the guards and the two bigmen freshmen in the backcourt.

Would be surprised if Okolie wasn't in the starting lineup, and if we'd be starting two freshmen down low.

Charnov played all of five minutes in the Brown-White scrimmage, so I would surprised if he got the starting nod as well. It seems to me it'd be more likely if the lineup was a 4 around 1 set featuring Blackmon-Spieth-Hobbie-Ok olie and Wilkinson/Fuller.

Not sure how the start to the season will go....but my guess is by the time Ivy Season rolls around we will see.....Blackmon, Spieth, Obi, Howard and Erebor starting - maybe switch out one of the two freshman for Blake - if he can shake off the rust or Fuller

My guess at a starting line-up w/b Blackmon, Speith, Okolie, Wilkinson, and Fuller due to his 1 year experience. But I can see Erebor supplanting him as the starter as the season moves on.

Backing up the guards w/b Daugherty and Triplett, with Hobbie being more a specialist this year to add some instant offence when needed or to break down a zone, if that D is played much anymore. Anderson has a strong HS background and athleticism when more D is required, and may acquire more PT as season progresses.

Backing up the forwards w/b Erebor (Fuller), Howard, and Haber. Speith can also play the 3 position, as well as Okolie move to the 2.

There is more versatility and interchangeable parts this year. And some of the players not mentioned may very well make their way onto the court. It sure is a long way from not too long ago when we didn't have 10 healthy bodies to scrimmage at practice. Coach Martin and his staff have raised the program's level of talent and depth. And next years' in-coming group will seemingly continue that trend.

Yes, but the strongest recruit class he's brought in are now seniors and they're picked to finish last in the Ivy. So I'm more ambivalent about where the program is right now. That said, I think the whole Ivy has improved over that time period, so the program may actually be both better and not have kept pace.

I bet Erebor starts - we just don't have enough down there for him not to. I bet Hobbie doesn't, but that he will get significant time off the bench and still end up as one of their higher scorers. I don't know that Howard or Anderson (or Charnov) are ready for prime time - I bet Mike gives them some time to develop and that Triplett, Dougherty, Wilkinson and Fuller are the guys who get the time off the bench, along with Hobbie.

And don't be surprised if Dougherty makes up ground quickly and eventually starts alongside Blackmon, with Speith shifting over to the 4. I think as he gets stronger and more durable, he can be a real player in this league.

I hope Dougherty can start to put it together. Kid couldn't toss it in the ocean last year - and had plenty of opportunities. He had a lot of sh*t to him in high school and on high level AAU circuit - so hopefully he can find that again - definitely can't write off a kid after freshman year. It's going to be really tough for him though to beat our Anderson for minutes by the time Ivy season rolls around. With that said I am very Bullish on Anderson - typically if you are good in that Hs conference in NJ you are good at the next level. I believe his entire game is going to translate at this level.

Hobbie is a starting level player but provides more value off the bench - scoring punch, lineup flexibility, etc. Also will allow him to see more 2nd unit players (who typically are younger and less experienced) where we will be able to hide him more on defense.

Triplett is a guy who has to start having enough discipline to carve a roll for himself out there. Floating around "too cool for school" for another season is just unacceptable. His strength and athleticism should allow us to go small at different times - especially in league. But with that said, we really need him to take advantage of larger and slower defenders when we go small and he is trailing the break as the 4 man. Please no more lazy passes, Mr. Triplett.

In regards to recruiting classes - kudos to the seniors - solid class - but we need to wait a little until a few classes flush out. Martin and the staff are starting to figure it out on the recruiting front. I expect Howard, Erebor, and Anderson all at some point in their respective careers to earn All-Ivy acclaim.

I bet we are:

Blackmon
Okolie
Speith
Wilkinson
Erebor

to start

and then over time

Blackmon
Daugherty
Okolie
Speith
Erebor

With rotation including

Triplett
Hobbie
Fuller

And then it's a toss-up to see if Sullivan or Howard or Anderson gets any PT.

I base this on absolutely no information.

I predict (without even being a Brown fan, so I have even less real info):

Blackmon
Hobbie
Okolie
Speith
Fuller

I think that Blackmon and Spieth are locks to start, and Okolie and Hobbie are locks to play a whole heck of a lot. I lean toward a small lineup like the one above, mainly because that was the approach last year. But if Wilkinson and Erebor are both totally ready, for example, maybe they go bigger, like you suggest.

After 2 games, my best line-up would be Tavon, Obi, Speith, Howard and Fuller.

Unfortunately, that leaves very little size on bench.
