Siena regressed (badly) after the BU game, losing four in a row - three to mediocre teams - amidst a lot of team dissension. But since then, they have won five of six MAAC games, although none against the top teams. Their star soph Nico Clareth has quit the team (maybe pushed out) and they have improved due to the change.
Siena is currently tied for 3rd in the MAAC. Monmouth is clearly the top team right now, but Siena could finish anywhere from 2nd through 7th.

There have been some interesting stories over the past six weeks involving Bison ooc opponents:
1. Wake was 73rd in the nation (Pomeroy) when they met the Bison. Moved to 50th by Christmas and has moved to 33rd since then - firmly on the bubble. They are 7-9 in the tough ACC, with #51 Syracuse their worst loss. Will need to beat either Louisville or VA Tech this week - or win at least one ACC tournament game - to get a bid.
2. Vandy - Was ranked 43rd before playing the Bison and 69th after. Fell as low as 77th but has now moved up to 43rd after consecutive wins over Texas A&M, South Carolina, Tennessee, and MS State. Also have wins over #7 Florida (on the road), #23 Iowa State, and #41 Arkansas. Firmly on the bubble, with very tough games left vs Kentucky and Florida.
3. Butler was #27 when they faced the Bison. Moved up as high as 15 but then lost two and dropped to 25th. Now back to #20 after four straight Big East wins, including a huge win at Villanova and another at Xavier.
4. Mount St. Mary's - Won the NEC regular season title with a 14-4 record. Was #271 when they faced the Bison. Now #214.
5. Norfolk State - Record was 1-12 in early January vs D1 teams. Since then they have gone 12-2, ranking second in the MEAC. Granted that is a very weak conference but still a nice turnaround.
6. Princeton - Ranked 80th when the faced the Bison. Counting that game, they have now won 13 straight games. They are 12-0 in the Ivy, with home games vs Harvard and Dartmouth remaining. Unfortunately for them, the Ivy now has a postseason tournament for the first time.
7. Richmond is now 11-5 in the A-10, tied for 3rd of the 14 teams. Their only two "bad" league losses were two to GMU, who is now 9-9 and tied for 6th, 7th, and 8th place.

One of my other favorite teams, Vermont, went 16-0 in the America East and 26-5 overall. Unfortunately, their 47 RPI probably will not get them an at-large if they lose their tournament. Their best wins are Harvard and Yale at home. Their only losses were to Butler, Providence, South Carolina, Houston (by 1), and Northeastern (by 2).
Would love the see Bucknell play them some day.

Belmont the favorite to get out of the OVC lost. They were projected to be a 12/13 seed. So obviously we would benefit from this loss if we win the Tourney

Just watched that game, now are at least eight conference champs we would be seeded ahead of: OVC, NEC, Summit, MEAC, SWAC, Big Sky, Southland, Big West. Two more to assure a 14, six for a 13. There are ten conferences with only one team left who could be seeded ahead of us: Winthrop, Fla Gulf Coast, ETSU, Monmouth, Valpo, Vermont, Akron, Mid Tenn St, UT Arlington & Princeton. Any of these who lose helps us should we win the Patriot.
That said, one step at a time. JUST BEAT NAVY!

Wake beat #8 Louisville tonight. They were on the bubble, so that may be enough to assure them a spot.
Also Princeton took out Harvard to move them within one game (Dartmouth) of an undefeated Ivy season.

The Wake result is actually a couple days old. Still good news for us.

We just got a bit of a silent compliment. Watching Vanderbilt v Florida and ESPN posted a graphic with "bad losses" for Vanderbilt and listed only at Missouri. A bit of silent respect.

Vanderbilt up by 3 with 32 seconds left against Florida. This would be a good win for Bucknell's RPI.

Vanderbilt wins. They tried to give it away by missing free throws, but they won.

Mount St. Mary's beat RMU by nine to advance to the NEC final. St. Francis won the other semi with a wild three at the buzzer. Too bad. I always root against them after their treatment of Don Friday.

Jamison Christian has had an intense postseason so far, having to rally twice to win.
