On Wednesday, Cornell (0-2) takes on Colgate (0-1) in the team's home opener. The game starts at 7:00 pm.

Video and Audio from the game will be carried on the Ivy League Digital Network. Barry Leonard and Eric Taylor will be handling the announcing duties.

Radio coverage is at Ithaca's 96.3 FM ("The Buzzer").

Colgate was picked 6th in the pre-season Patriot League poll. The Red Raiders are coached by former Penn player Matt Langel, who also was Brian Earl's 8th grade classmate.

Colgate was 13-17 (9-9 Patriot; 5th place) last season. The team returns 4 starters and 68% of its offensive production from last year's squad.

Junior forward Jordan Swopshire is a 2nd Team All-Patriot pre-season pick by College Sports Madness. In his first season after transferring from Bradley, Swoprshire averaged 10.6 points a game and shot 44% from three, which was third best in the Patriot League. He also was the team's leading rebounder. Junior forward Tom Rivard averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds a game last year, his first for Colgate following his transfer from James Madison. Another member of the team's front court, forward/center Malcom Regisford, averaged 5.7 points and 5.9 rebounds a game in his Freshman season, earning him a spot on the Patriot League's All-Rookie team. In the backcourt, junior Sean O'Brien averaged 8.6 points per game and had a 43% three-point field goal percentage, which was 5th best in the Patriot League.

Cornell's KenPom ranking is #229, while Colgate sits at #248. The Red beat Colgate 101-98 in double overtime at Colgate last November.

The Red Raiders lost its opening game to Syracuse, 83-55, on Friday night.

0-3 and the offense still relies too much on hero ball. 6 assists total (granted only 21 made FG's). Gettings isn't bad with the ball and Warren is surprisingly rugged, but no David Onuorah (out sick) means way too many easy looks and offensive rebounds for the Raiders.

Colgate won 67-63. Sorry to bury the lede.

David Onuorah was out with an illness for the second straight game. Jordan Abdur-Ra'oof was out for the third game of the season as he rehabilitates from off-season surgery. There are no reports on the time table for their return.

Stone Gettings started strong with 7 points in the first 3 minutes to lead the Red to a quick 11-2 lead. Unfortunately, he picked up two early fouls and had to sit for 16 minutes of the half. The Red Raiders took advantage of his absence to tie the game within the next five minutes. Over the remainder of the half, the two teams stayed within one or two points of each other and went to the locker rooms tied at 31.

In the second half, the teams stayed close with eight lead changes. With just over two minutes to go, Colgate finally seemed to break away from Cornell when Tri-Captain Sean O'Brien nailed a three-pointer for a seven point lead. However, that lead quickly disappeared as the Red made it a one point game within a minute.

After Colgate hit two free throws to go up 64-61, Red Raider First-Year Will Rayman blocked a Matt Morgan layup with 18 seconds to go. Colgate hit several three more free throws to close out the game, 67-63.

For Cornell, Matt Morgan had 26 points, including 11-12 free throws and 6 rebounds. Stone Gettings ended with 14 points, 2 three-pointers, and 6 rebounds in 18 minutes of action. Robert Hatter scored 10 points and 5 rebounds, while First-Year Josh Warren played 25 minutes and had 8 rebounds.

For Colgate, O'Brien ended with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Rayman was just shy of a double-double with 12 points and 9 boards. Francisco Amiel and Malcolm Regisford each had 10 points.

The Red shot 41% for the game, 23% from three (3-13) and 67% from the free throw line (18-27). They had 10 steals, 14 turnovers and only 6 assists. Colgate shot 42%, 37% from three (7-19) and 50% from the charity stripe (6-12).

On offense, Cornell had good ball movement early, but it broke down to last year's one person offense as the game progressed. The team has to work on running its team offense for the entire game, as well as improving its three point and free throw shooting.

Defensively, they did well, overall, but need to find a way to limit its opponents three-pointers. Also, the team needs to find a way to shut down its oppositions best player in crunch time.

Next up for the Big Red is a road contest on Sunday afternoon against Lafayette (2-1).
