Quick, question. Mike Smith is 5'111according to our program. Based upon the picture posted today with David Stern and the rest of the team he looks more like 5'7" or so. Just how tall (or short) is he?

Best as I can tell from the internet before Columbia inflated his height for the starting lineup, he's 5'9.

Perhaps the most experienced team, Princeton, lost to Lehigh. Their O sputtered, again.
It's an example of early games not to be taken too seriously, especially for the new Lions' players, coaches, schemes.

i am puzzled as to why Cannady, who I think is Princeton's most athletic and talented player, is not starting. Cannady basically killed our chances to win the IL with his clutch play in the first Princeton game when it looked like we had it won.

He's played 29 minutes a game, as much as the starters, so it doesn't matter that much if he's out there for the tip. He's not as good a defender, and it's nice to have him in alongside Stephens and the other bench players because he's such a spark plug offensively.
I don't know if he'll actually be a starter, but I'd bet he takes even more minutes from Bell over the course of the season.

Coby is returning to the lineup, and some adjustments have been made.

48-30 at half time--Hickman with 14, Petrasek with 11.
Down by 6 (18-12) at the 11:33 mark and looking totally hapless, Columbia suddenly goes on a 36-12 run by shooting 62% from the field and 42% from the 3 pt. line.

Refs are killing us in the second half. Lead is at 11 with just under 12 but everybody is going to foul out.

Ugly second half and an 8 point win;, should have been a twenty five point blowout but the refs killed us and our shooting went very cold.

Watching the game on the Quinnipiac video link was pretty awful. Nothing good to say about us and if you listened to them it was only incredible bad luck that permitted Columbia to squeak by with a win that was undeserved. And the officiating was about the worst I have ever seen, even worse than the routine home cooking that Yale always gets in New Haven. I can't recall a game in which we had so many guys either foul out or play with four fouls. We were in the double bonus penalty box for over ten minutes,

Hickman, Petrasek, Coby and Smith played well enough for the LIons to win this game, but if the coaching staff doesn't find another player who can score in double digits consistently we will be in trouble when we play stronger teams. The 6'8' Meisner and the 6'8" McComber have both fallen into the trap of big men who prefer to play outside than near the basket. Kilingsworth and Adlesh are both struggling to find their way. I would give more playing time to Hunter, Davis and Taoe. .

We were soundly beaten on the offensive glass, we gave Quinnipiac back 34% of their missed shots while getting only 26% of ours. This is a recurring problem that needs to be addressed aggressively, it's going to bite us hard come ivy season. Meisner + McComber played a combined 33mins without snatching a single RB. If they don't rectify this soon, I think Tape should definitely get more playing time.

Meisner and McComber were marked men by the refs. They couldn't sneeze without getting called on some ridiculous fouls. The officiating was a disgrace. Complete home call toadies. We were running Quinnipiac out of the gym by halftime when those clowns made us play 5 against 8.

Yes, while it's hardly surprising that Adlesh and Killingsworth should struggle, the single biggest disappointment so far this year is Meisner. He's misplaced his shot and while he did have 12 rbs in one game, he hasn't made the strides we all thought he would. Within the IL, his problems situate us pretty firmly: we should be able to beat the four teams below us who are KenPom <200, but we'll lose badly to P/H/Y, all of whom are at 130> or better.
