Does anyone know if you can watch the game on the Patriot League Network or is a subscription needed? Someone told me that you can simply watch the game without a charge.

After 8:40 played, way too many good looks forr
Lehigh but getting tons of good looks for them. Defense appears better when Miller enters. Caruso looking good.

Tied at half if Bell's last-second heave was counted as a three. Refs calling a defense-friendly game, lots of travels, charges, no-calls on drives with contact. PU missed too many layup attempts, but the treys were OK at 4/9. Still feel like the Tigers are not exploiting their athletic advantages enough on D. The one possession of matchup zone I noticed went well, and Cannady did a good job of lightly pressuring the Lehigh freshman PG (pressed into starting due to an injury). But they were late to perimeter shooters early in the game and had more trouble keeping guys in front of them than they should have.

Kempton is outplaying Brase on both ends, although Brase had a nice backdoor assist to Cook. I don't know why Brase isn't spacing the floor and shooting some threes; at a minimum he needs to do that to keep his man honest.

Down 9 with 7:22 to go. Lehigh has a couple of hot jump shooters. Some good hustle from Cannady and Stephens, but not much sign of turning it around. Need to wake up now.

10-2run cuts it to one but three empty trips allow Kempton to make a three -point play, Weisz with a huge miss from three.

Lose by nine after giving up a 10-0 run at the end. Need more layup practice.

Can't help but feel that Brase is a distraction to this team. Leave him home next trip.

Wow, what an incredibly disappointing beginning to the season. Weisz and Bell 10 / 40 from the floor and 6 / 29 from 3 in first 2 games, and both beat repeatedly on drives. Hard to find many positives.

Brase could be a great stretch 4, but he can't defend big post men very well, although his effort is great. He made some good offensive plays, but not enough to justify all those minutes unless this is about knocking off his rust. I don't think he attempted one trey. But it would be very misleading to blame the loss on him--there was plenty of blame to go around.

Yes of course they win and lose as a team, and there were opportunities to win this one irrespective of the play of Brase.
Nevertheless, the ability of Kempton to get to the hoop and score forced help defense which paved the way for the perimeter shooters. I kept looking for Brendan Connolly.

I was hoping for a special season, but it looks like more of the same. If they lose to Lafayette, then it's panic time.

I'm still enjoying the warm afterglow of football season. It is too early to start panicking about bball. MH is still looking for the best combinations in his surplus of talent.

Yes, and I appreciate patience, but they have played about 6 games already so he should have some ideas. It's OK if the strategy is to sacrifice the OOC and peak at end of regular season, but that almost certainly means foregoing any real chance at a second NCAA slot if they fail to win the tournament. A strong regular conference season is not going to cut it with the selection committee if the OOC performance is weak.

Were you really thinking that the Ivies would get 2 spots this year?
Until the day it happens, I think the thought is pretty much a fantasy.
Princeton is fine--these games really don't matter (although Lehigh is a surprising loss)...just shows how much KenPom is relying on last year's rankings at this point of the year.

I had cautioned against expectations exceeding reality as to some of these tough non-conference road games in a prior post but it was suggested that we simply embrace what some pundits had projected. It is not easy to win road games against good teams and BYU and to a lesser extent, Lehigh, are probably going to be good teams this year although time will tell. There are many collegiate teams with considerable talent and winning is never easy against good teams especially on the road.
In a post-game interview, Cook suggested that the Tigers need to get back to basics and start taking a good look in the mirror and take nothing for granted. They had two road games, down by 1 point, and played poorly over the final 5 to 6 minutes. Gut check time.
