What a nail biter. I thought we were frankly lucky to get the W. I remain puzzled by this team''s inability to hold 10-12 point late game leads. We dodged a bullet this afternoon but didn't in the Army game. Frankly I thought that we should have won both by 15. So,somebody please explain why we cannot seem to get critical defensive stops late in the game.

Past years' teams have had problems holding leads, of course.

We lose a 24 pt lead to go into OT. Although we stopped moving in the second half, that still doesn't explain why they got so many open 3s.
On a positive note, there was Petrasek with 22, Hickman with 15, and Meisner with 13. Meisner, in particular, played better and seems to have regained his shot

Killingsworth has now taken a horse collar in two straight home games after hitting for 17 against St.Joe's on the road. We are really missing Castlin. Hard for me to find many positives in a team that gives up a 24 point lead.

True. I wonder whether he will soon lose his starting role to Hunter.
Although we have a lot of individual talent, we're very streaky. Engels has six weeks to improve the defense and get everyone playing together so that even if we're not scoring in bunches, the offense doesn't go completely stagnant.

Adl she and McComber basically played starter minutes. Killingsworth and Hunter played 10 and 9 minutes. Engles must like Adlesh's toughness. But can Adlesh and Smith be on the court together? Maybe against smaller teams.

Meant Adlesh and McComber in first sentence. Spellcheck again.

On the positive side, we won this game due to the outstanding play of our two stars, Luke Petrasek and Nate Hickman, as well as the excellent play of the freshman point guard, Mike Smith and sophomore guard Quinton Adlesh. It was great to see Luke drive to the basket late in the game for easy scores rather than gamble on the long outside shot as he did in the loss to Army. Further, the very talented Nate Hickman was once again brilliant in shooting the clutch winner as the clock winded down. Kudos also to 6'0" Quinton for hustling in for the offensive rebound and score that set up the victory. On the negative side, we were absolutely awful in the approximate twelve minute stretch from near the end of the first half into the middle of the second half. Of course, there can be no excuse for losing a 24 point lead in about 10 minutes, but we managed to do that by playing offense without any attempt to get in close to the basket for easy shots and offensive rebounds and by defending as soft as one could possibly imagine.
