Wow! What a game? Bryant hits a 3 with about 13 seconds left for a 90-89 lead only to have Tavon Martin take it coast-to-coast and beat his man to get a lay-up with 3.8 seconds left for the win. A great game to watch. One of those games where neither team deserved to lose. Bryant has two great young guards in Nisre Zouzoua (31 points) and Adarn Grant (20 points) who were almost impossible to guard.

The Bears came out early with some very aggressive defense and got an early lead which eventually reached double digits. But Bryant came back and it became a game of runs. Brown had leads of between 2 and 8 points all game. But Bryant answered all of them, including the go ahead 3. Speith didn't score much in the first half but continued to feed Howard from the high post for inside lay ups effectively. Hobbie was 5 of 8 on threes. Obie didn't have a good shooting night again but got some big rebounds.

Anderson had two big takes to the hoop for scores. He is very quick and tough to defend. The Bears did get a bit sloppy with the ball at times leading to some careless turnovers. Speith had an uncharacteristic 7 turnovers. Martin is playing up 9 to 10 players a game and getting contributions from all of them.

It's become clear that the refs are going to call things tight. So defenses are adjusting and learning how to play aggressive without fouling, lest some players spend the night on the bench in foul trouble. The result is a lot of high scoring games with a much better flow of action. Thankfully the Bears have a number of guys who can control the ball and score. If they play well again Wednesday night we can get to .500 at 4-4.
