Tigers website shows Gladson starting at center vs. Hans Brase. Let's hope that Brase's injury from VCU game is not serious but not a good sign.
Unfortunately, Cal has two big men 6'11" and a 7 footer and the 6'11" player, Rabb, is really good. Not sure why Coach starts Gladson vs. Miller. Cal is a very good rebounding and defensive team although their shooting has been on and off even with Grant Mullins being on their team. Cal has a #54 Kenpom ranking.
When this game appeared on the schedule, it looked like a game that the Tigers would need Brase and Miller on the floor together for parts of the game.

Thanks for the scouting report.
The silence on Brase is frustrating.

I agree regarding the silence. There are photos and a video of the Tigers day 1 in Hawaii. Brase is there and he is smiling and moving around although I am not sure if he was participating in a practice based on the video.
Never did see his injury as to what part of his body.
May be telling if Henderson holds him out if he is borderline as to playing in Hawaii --- they do need him against Cal. Coach may be deciding to make sure that Hans is healthy for the Ivy League vs. non-conference ---- I should say the Ivy League tournament vs. the regular season.

I was watching--he tripped over an opponent's foot and fell awkwardly, forcing his foot out laterally and apparantly injuring his knee. As I recall it was his right knee--don't know if that is the one he injured last year. The awkward torsion would have stressed his medial collateral ligament, I think.

I love these boards, we not only get to tell the coaches who to play, and how to play. We even get medical diagnoses.

Their guard Bird apparently is shooting 44% from three, though with only nine attempts. It would be nice not to have him break out against the Tigers.

Good call. He is using two crutches but seems in good spirits but obviously will not be playing in Hawaii. Miller, Gladson and Brennan need to step up.

Nice drop step hook by Gladson, even though he missed.
Offense stagnant.

No one can get off a three--perimeter defense too good by Cal, and Miller awkward down low. Gladson just one play.

Bill Rafferty rightly commented that the court/lighting is presenting real problems for both teams. Nothing but bricks or completely missing the hoop by both teams although Cal and Tigers are playing great defense. Best defense for one half that I have seen the Tigers play in a long time.
Cannady is fearless. It would be nice to have Brase on the court. Cook first bad half of season. Cal is very good defensively stopping back door cuts.
