Meisner is injured.
IMO Hunter just needs to take the shot. I also think he's not 100% comfortable in the offense as of yet. He's also a player that is selective and efficient in shot selection. He usually won't shoot just to shoot. That being said he's gotta relax and let a few go. Seeing a few go through the net is a huge confidence builder.

I certainly agree with RHunter3 that shooting is not Rodney's problem and, in my opinion, it is just a matter of time before everything clicks for him and for that matter, the entire Columbia Lion Basketball Team. Hunter is a very talented player and his further development is crucial to the success of this year's team. It seems to me that Rodney and some of his teammates are not yet comfortable in the Lions new offense. Also, while it's generally beneficial to have a deep rotation, multiple substitutions can be confusing and make players become more tentative. Finally, I hope the new Columbia coaching staff is not falling into the trap of taking players off the court as soon as they are called for a second or third personal foul. Columbia needs their best players on the floor for more than twenty minutes a game. It is preferable to let a player foul out with thirty + minutes playing time than play only twenty minutes.

In looking at Rodney's stats he's shooting 55% from field(11-20), 0% (0-0), from 3, and 43% from line (3-7).
It's definitely correctable, but he does need to shoot more.....make or miss.

"0% (0-0), from 3, and 43% from line (3-7)"
these two will make him easy to defend: keep distance when he's away from the basket, send him to the line if he beats you on the dribble. All it takes is scouting, something that miami (or others) wouldn't really bother with for an OOC game against columbia, but something the ivies do much more rigorously in conference.
Many of Kyle Smith's offenses relied on trick plays that caught even the best schools off-guard but were easy to scout and defend when ivy season rolled around. This is part of the reason we under-performed in ivy play most years.

Same could be said about Meisner. He's only 4-7 FT line snd 27% from 3
7 shots not enough to make a good assessment. As a team I don't think they shoot enough free throws.
He does need to take 3s though.

The team is running a new syatem that per Coach Engles take a year to learn. I too think that as a whole they are not comfortably as of yet. There is alot of potential with the team. If they play as they did last night but clean up a few things they will be right in the mix.

Yes well, lost in your analysis is the fact that Killingsworth is shooting only 28% from the 3 pt line.
The other guard that deserves consideration is Adlesh. Adlesh is playing starters minutes, shoots and passes well, and plays smart and efficiently.
However, starting the 5'10 Smith and the 6'0 Adlesh in the same backcourt might pose defensive issues.

Yes, the point guard position is a a team strength-- Mike Smith is outstanding in all aspects of the game, Davis is a very good back-up point/combo guard and Adlesh does many things well. I have given up on the starting line-up thing with Killingsworth. Logic says he shouldn't be starting, but coaches have their reasons for starting certain players.

I agree about Smith. I assume that we have gone to a zone when he is in the game largely because he is much better suited to a zone defense.
