Cornell faithful, I'm thinking of attending my first game at Cornell. Any suggestions for a place to eat before or after the game?

Also, I'm assuming the game starts at 6pm. Please let me know if anyone knows for sure as there is a conflicting 7pm start time still floating around on certain sites.

Game is at 6:00 pm. Hockey game vs Harvard (sold out) is at 7:00 pm.

There are a number of places a few minutes away from Newman Arena in Collegetown.

Several choices that my family enjoys are The Nines, Collegetown Bagels, Souvlaki House and Koko Korean

Halftime
Cornell 40
Harvard 33

By far, the best half of basketball this year.

Hatter did not start, but came in off the bench.

Team has great ball movement, including several Princeton-like back door cuts.

Shooting 67% overall (16-24), and 56% (5-9) from three. They are outrebounding Harvard 16-10. They are keeping up on the inside, with 22 points in the paint each.

They have only committed 6 fouls, sending Harvard to the line 4 times.

Balanced scoring with 9 different players putting up points. Morgan leads with 8 (and 5 rebounds), Gettings with 7 and Warren with 6.

On the negative side, they have committed 10 turnovers, leading to 14 Harvard points. They are 3-8 from the free throw line. Gettings has 7 points, but all were scored in the first 4 minutes. He also has 5 turnovers (had 6 in the first half last week at Columbia)

Harvard started off hot, hitting 8 of its first 10 shots, then cooled off a bit. They ended up 14-29 (48%). They hit 3 of the first 5 three pointers, then missed the next 7 treys.

They have done a good job with converting turnovers into points.

Corey Johnson leads the Crimson with 12 points. Zena came off the bench to score 6. Lewis had 6 in the first few minutes, then went silent. Chambers had 2 points, 4 assists and 3 turnovers.

Hopefully, there won't be a letdown in the second half!

Watched the entertaining though disappointing second half. (I had Cornell as the fourth team in the Ivy folly preseason, plus I like Earl, so I'm rooting for them a bit.) Definitely some wake-up-the-echoes Princeton offense with all the hard backdoor cuts and Gettings trying to play like Kit Mueller. Don't know why Amaker didn't stay in that zone more, because it was way, way more effective than their man-to-man defense, even at stopping the outside shot. Big Red turnovers were mostly of the enterprising variety, only a few boneheaded ones against the zone. A couple of open treys and some missed FTs away from the victory.

It is not surprising that Coach Earl would use backdoor plays against a young Crimson team. If he is able to successfully recruit, Earl will have Cornell on the rise.

Very few blow outs in the Ivy League this year. Most wins will require toughness and tenacity by the winner.

With the Tigers idle I sauntered up I81 from my home near Scranton to see Brian Earl's team. (Once, years ago, I had two at Will Call for a Princeton game on the same night as a home hockey game at Newman. Long line for tix. A young man came by "looking for one". I said I have an extra, no charge. He almost cried he was so happy. When we obtained the tix he looked at his and said, "What the f***. Basketball!) For 37 minutes Cornell outshot, outrebounded, outscored and outplayed the Crimson. For the last three minutes, after Gettings missed the front end of a one-and-one that could have made the score 71-64, Harvard closed the game on a 13-2 run. Cornell could have beated anybody in the League last night in a 37 minute game. Harvard is as deep a team as I have ever seen.
