It's Coca-Cola Cell Phone Wallet Giveaway Night! I can't believe that I am flying to the Super Bowl instead . . . I might have to rethink my plans.

I'm going! Looking forward to seeing how they play. I'll report back after the game, maybe with a new Coca-Cola cell phone wallet! (Whatever that is)

Upbeat mention of the Bison here.
However, it's a little too rosy for comfort and, with memories of last year's tournament in mind, this phrase is particularly cringe-worthy: "the Mountain Hawks appear to be the only challenge standing between the Bison and Selection Sunday."

It was a good game. Bucknell got up a pretty good lead but American tried to mount a comeback but couldn't do it. Zach Thomas played a pretty good game and Azzinaro played great. Foulland was too much for American. Nate Jones went from starter to mop up all because of an injury. Tony Romo'ed. The Bison Girls did great. A very complex routine encompassing dance, ballet, modern, and other moves and everyone remembered their moves which gets an A in my book. The refs took pity on American the second half and helped them crawl back into the game. Lots of travel calls, more than I've seen in a long time if ever. The coca cola cell phone wallet is a farce. Its a small plastic pocket that can stick to the back of your phone. Its a drab orange, something made in China. Its a little larger than the size of a quarter and looks like a barbie dolls purse, an ugly one at that. Its got a Bucknell sticker on it and a small coca cola logo on it. Even the guy that gave it to me had a sheepish look on his face. Basically plastic litter. I was looking forward to getting a cool red coca-cola wallet that looked like a cell phone. I was going to put my dollars in it and open that baby up and show off my new red coke wallet that looked like a cell phone, take my dollars out and fold it back up proudly. It didn't happen.

I feel the same way. My sister, a current senior at Bucknell, swears by the wallet case. I can't help but mention how devastating it would be to lose your phone, cash, cards, and identification in one fell swoop.

Guys had me worried for a minute when American got within 8. When Nana picked up his fourth foul and Stephen got hurt things were looking a little bleak. The guys picked it up though. DJ and Johnny A jumped right in and played great. Zach was Zach. Some ugly turnovers and horrible bricks, but still scored 21 and got some great rebounds and assists.

another solid all around game from the team and another great Paulie post.
i like seeing every guy on the team succeed, but have to admit it has been extra nice to see JohnnyA have a couple of really good performances recently. seems to me he has kept his head up this year when it would have been easy to get down. hope he keeps it going.
wouldn't write Nate Jones off so quickly, will take him a while to play back into shape and while it's tough to get back in the rotation on a deep team this time of year, he'll get his opportunities. Toomer does continue to impress, however, and i'd expect him to retain the starting role.

I wish Avi would look to score a little more. With his athletic ability he could do some damage. He's playing great D though.

Pretty good game overall...a 20 or win is always nice. Of course, I expected a win and wasnt too worried. Even though Doug continually called American a good team, a 17-6 team should defeat a 5-16 team 99/100 times. I agree that it would be nice to see Avi be a bit more aggrsssive offensively. Zach can look awesome one moment then make a boneheaded play the next, but he typically makes far more good plays. We'll need him to be his focused best to be our best. As for next week, I'm hoping for a sizable win on Monday so the guys can have even a small physical and mental break. Two nights during the week with classes is rough. Hard to see that a TV game is worth it.
I also loved Paulie's post. The Coke wallet looks a bit cheesy.

Paulie, I have been waiting for you to comment on The Bison Girls. What took so long?
As stated above by others, Thomas can be so frustrating. Yes, he can score inside and outside, but he has become a turnover machine. I do not remember him having so many turnovers in previous seasons. (137, feel free to correct me.) Is he pressing too hard?
It has been really nice to see Johnny A get some quality minutes and produce. Having a senior on the court helps with stability at times.
I love being able to watch the games on demand. I definitely got my "My Oh Mighty" fix.
GO BISON!

Yes. I think you have to go back to Stephen Tyree and Bryan Cohen to find a Bison freshman guard/wing who played defense at this level. Ryan Frazier was good, but Avi is longer and jumps better.

I agree with all said, but still think coach could make better use of Sestina.

I agree with you 100% about making better use of Sestina. He has yet to be given the opportunity to show what he is capable of doing on the court. It seems as though all season he's been taken out of the game as soon as he gets into a rhythm. I am patiently waiting for him to have his breakout game, it is coming.

I think the emergence of Bruce Moore has taken away from Sestina playing time. If I had to choose between the two I would think that Moore is a more complete player than Sestina, so it doesn't bother me as much. I kind of think Sestina and Jones are in similar positions, in that the freshman behind them (obviously Toomer for Jones) are similar players that may be better than they are.

His minutes will go up next year, with the graduation of DJ. Then should go way up the following year. It's not easy for an inexperienced player to get minutes at the four and the five, with Foulland, Thomas, Sestina, MacLeay, and sometimes Moore all playing those two spots.
Would you sit Foulland or Thomas more to give Nate more minutes.
