Coach Earl has Cornell playing better as they played Harvard and Yale dead even at home over the past two weekends. Their strengths, Gettings at 6'9"has inside/outside game an Morgan, quick guard, matches up well against the Tigers defense. Earl is playing Gettings and Warren, 6'8" forward, together more and more. They shoot well, FG/3Pt %, and share the ball although they turn it over. Cornell's defense is not great especially their guards. Earl brings a lot of knowledge with him regarding the Tigers offense. Fortunately, the game is at home which should help.

Point spread, 16, seems very high based on how Cornell has been keeping games close but losing at the end. Other surprising odds are Penn giving 4 pts to Columbia.

Cornell is playing better this season. They beat Columbia on the road and almost had the season sweep. In addition to playing Yale and Harvard tough, they had a convincing victory over Dartmouth. The Brown game last Friday was the only league contest where they were not competitive.

With that stated, Princeton will be a difficult match for the Red tonight. Gettings and Warren are doing well, but should have a tough time against players who have been in a similar system for several years.

The Red have been struggling with three pointers recently and look to continue when trying to shoot those in Jadwin.

They also turn the ball over a lot, which will cost them against the Tigers.

Tonight will probably be a good teaching experience for them to see where they can go in the next few years. The teams better chance at success is the Sunday game down in Philly.

Good save. Brian Earl is going to be a great coach. On one hand, I hope he gets Cornell to the Ivy tourney. On the other hand, I'm scared to face him in any elimination game.

Tough game. Coach Earl did a good job of attacking Princeton defense as they were able to get some easy baskets plus Cornell made some very tough shots to the basket yet they still only got 60 pts. Cornell has some athletes. Tigers took their foot off the pedal both offensively and defensively for the first 10 minutes of the second half. Hopefully, they learned a lesson for tomorrow night.

Weisz is now averaging 20 pts per game over the past 4 Ivy games. Miller finally got some minutes and did a good job of bottling up Gettings. Cook is still off his game but he is now 32nd Tiger who has reached 1,000 pts.

Love some of the old-school stuff Earl has Cornell running through Gettings. Their defense isn't very good but at least looks sane, unlike in recent years.

Solid defensive job by the Tiger bigs. The Bell renaissance continues, Weisz is really taking on the scoring burden to go with his all-around game, Stephens continues to be better than his man most of the time on both ends, Cook played excellent D, and Cannady showed some offensive pulse. Even when they fell behind in the second half, there was zero panic and obvious confidence that they were going to win the game. I think they may have been looking ahead a bit to Columbia.

This felt like a grind-it-out away win and not the typical home game against a bottom-half Ivy team where Princeton leads from start to end. Coach Henderson captured it well in the post-game interview: Princeton was not sharp, which he said was in part a credit to Cornell's execution, but the Tigers' experience pulled them through in the end. Weisz also noted afterwards that the ball stopped moving at a certain point and their defense got soft but finally the players woke up and started to play. Cornell got a lot of layups and foul shots and it seemed Princeton could not finish many of their attacks at the rim. I agree with all of the comments above about Coach Earl and Cornell, he has some good players and he has them playing well.
