Down 20, we climb back into it, only to lose by 2 as Killingsworth's 3 pter is wide left. Smith scores 21, Adlesh hits 3 of 3 from deep, to lead the recovery, but Petrasek is limited to 7 pts. Quite a respectable loss, considering Meisner is apparently injured and did not play.

The biggest bonus--Brown loses to Dartmouth 77-74 and remains 2 games behind.

NB: If Penn beats Cornell tomorrow, the bottom 4 teams will all be 2-6, two games behind Columbia.

Great second half comeback! After looking awful in the first half, we completely outplayed Princeton in the second half. Coach Engles found the right combination of players to dominate Princeton, but just a bit too late. In Columbia's case, that combination was a single big in the middle (Petrasek, Voss & Coby) and four players outside (Smith, Hickman, Adlesh and Hunter). Killingsworth and Voss also contributed. Meisner was on the bench, but not in uniform. Tape didn't play either. Columbia just missed taking Princeton down tonight, and Princeton's squeaked by due to some smart non-shooting fouls at the very end of the game. Still, if we remember to play a four guard offens next time around, we should be able to defeat Princeton.

On the video last night during the Penn game, there was an image of Meisner where he was seemingly bent over for a long time, as if he was exhausted or injured. Apparently, it was the latter. Does anyone know what his status is, or Tape, too, for that matter?

We will certainly need Meisner next weekend against Harvard and Dartmouth. Having Tape would be nice also. Meanwhile Harvard just knocked off Yale in New Haven which means that Harvard and Yale both have 6-2 records. Columbia at 4-4 is the only Ivy League team with any chance at all of passing them in the standings and even if we do Harvard, Yale and Princeton still will finish in the top four places in the standings. So three of the four places in the first Ivy League postseason tournament are already taken.

A tale of two halves. Maybe really 1st 30 minutes vs. last 10.

I thought we'd see the team pull off an amazing comeback. There were opportunities at the end.

Not a good weekend, though I still think 6-8 punches a ticket to the tournament.

Petrasek took too few shots (6?) for his talent, time on the court (26 minutes) and with no Meisner or Tape.

Thanks for the analysis from your end; I was at the game, but I don't know your personnel well enough to understand what you did in the second half. We were able to handle Petrasek with Myles Stephens, who is smaller but very very athletic. On offense we used Stephens in the post, and he could get by Petrasek and Voss, but not Coby. Your guards shot the ball well when open. I thought it was over toward the end when Bell hit his jumper, but Petrasek came right back with a long 3. We then tried to run the same isolation with Bell, but you doubled him when the shot clock went under 10. Nice adjustment. We were very lucky to some away with a W.

Should be an interesting rematch in the Big Apple. We'll see which team adjusts best to what it learned last night. Columbia has some future star power.

I don't think that our freshman PG, Mike Smith, gets the credit that he deserves. He plays the most minutes and seems to get better and better. He should be in the running for ROY. He is fearless.
