Nice yoyo, I guess Princeton isn't making the tourney either and Dartmounth's a shoe in?

Chet, I remember under Smith there were one or two similar seasons of close losses and playing down to the competition before the team finally got over the hump. They seem to need a certain toughness that they're near having (except for Smith who looks like he's got it). But I think they'll get there. The recent comebacks bode well. If they get it right away, there's a chance for the playoffs. If not, then maybe next year if the bigs develop quickly or the year after if they don't.

A tweet from MBB has Voss as a starter, perhaps Killingsworth.

Pr 64-45; it wasn't that close. Smith outstanding in the first half, not the 2nd!
Penn beat Cor 69-66.

What a flop from the senior class on senior weekend. One chance for redemption.

Princeton & Penn Weekend 02-24-17 11:08 PM - Post#223456
In response to Chet Forte
We were pretty much shut down tonight. Wherever there is a vulnerability, whether it is Smith's height or our defense against three point shooting, Princeton exploited it. The only positive signs were Smith's first half and a few plays by Tape that hint at his potential,

I was very impressed by Tape. Has huge upside. Both teams failed to take advantage of the other offensively in first half. I kept thinking that we should have had the game put away. But there were probably many Lion fans who felt the same way about us. Good defense. Not so good ball movement.

Yes he does. But it probably won't be realized until next year when he plays alongside Faulds.

Our two best players tonight were freshmen--Mike Smith and Patrick Tape. They scored nearly all of Columbia's points in the first half to keep us in the game after the team's miserable start. Our outside shooting was awful and except for Tape our big men were ineffective. Princeton took care of business early in the second half by shooting successfully over our zone defense. Obviously this team misses Meisner greatly.

Tape's hook shot got my attention. It looked pretty pure and he got it off very quickly. If that thing is repeatable, look out.

True. During a game in which we looked pretty enfeebled, a couple of Smith's drives and Tape's hook shot were the only displays of real artistry.
