Much better matchup.

Goodman hits a 3!

We're rebounding well and moving the ball. I like what I'm seeing today.

This game is over. All the offensive rbs won't save Yale. They can't put the ball in the hoop and Penn playing great D and is ballistic on offense. What a different game since halftime.

Just saw this thread. Sorry. At least I'll get to enjoy it. Was wondering why the other stopped. I never left that thread.

I wonder what kind of effort Princeton gives Friday...

Holy crap that was a fun way to start a Sunday, huh? Hell of a turnaround and after 0-6 start and the coaching staff and players deserve a world of credit for this turnaround.

AJ and team have been able to react much better to double teams and Goodman and Betley have been a revelation to the lineup with conference ORats of 102.9 and 118.2 respectively. That's particularly exciting for the future.

Still a long road so hope the good guys can keep this up! Next weekend is critical.

Next weekend is critical, but I'm hoping today kind of reduces a little bit of the danger of looking ahead to Saturday. We need at least a split this weekend, but it is now a little less imperative that we beat Columbia. Hopefully, the team focuses entirely on winning the game in front of them against Cornell, and we can think about Columbia when that one is over.

The irony is delicious. Princeton's 14-0 league mark earns them a first round loss in the Palestra and a trip to the NIT.

We'd have to think long and hard about the last time we had a road sweep quite like that of Brown and Yale. Even in our good years, Yale was often a tough out at home.

Last time we swept the trip (or won at Yale) was 2011. Last time we won both this decisively was 2000, when U, Koko, and Klatsky were freshmen.

I just returned to my home from New Haven. What a revelation! Up until now, i have been watching the games on TV/ILDN. I had no appreciation for how intensely we are playing defense or the fierce competitive spirit (and generally good play) that Foreman and Donahue bring on both offense and defense ON EVERY PLAY. Throw Goodman and Betley in the mix, and oh baby. There were no respites for Yale at all, and Yale had open looks only a half dozen times. Other things I picked up in person were how much the bench was rooting on their teammates; when we needed a stop, they led the Penn fans in making a lot of noise to rev up the ones on the floor (and it worked), and the fact that the Betley-Begley comparison is valid. Bentley displayed multiple skills with and without the ball. VERY well done, SD and the Quakers. Yale looked befuddled all game. We haven't played this well for four consecutive games in at least a decade.

Just returned from my DVR. Very impressive, especially on defense. Yale never developed any rhythm on offense. There were a couple of spurts where they got the best of us on the offensive boards, but overall they did not have a lot of free paths through the lane. We also got in the way of a lot of passes and our hands were very quick.

AJ and Max at times still need to figure out how to work together out there, but overall it's a plus when they're both on the floor.

And again, this team is so different when Howard is at 100%.

Did a nice job of working the ball around. There were very few turnovers and no unforced ones that I could see. Yale fast breaks were practically nonexistent.

And when they had them Devin picked their pockets. I'm in the middle of watching it again. That second half opening may have been more enjoyable than the 27-2 run the previous night.

Anyone for petitioning the Ivy Presidents to go to a Friday-Sunday schedule? Seems to have worked well for Penn. Wonder if this made them play with more energy (which they certainly did in both games) knowing that they don't have to play two days in a row. While the shots have been falling, the defense is what is really making these games go, including the switch from primarily a 1-3-1 to a man. It was a fun weekend.

Depends on who is tasting it. We shall try to avoid that chain of events. Much as I loathe the entire idea of the tourney, it would give me a some satisfaction to take three games from the quackers in one season.

Say, what happened to the chorus of Donahue critics and second guessers on the Penn board?

I have to admit I was a little pessimistic at halftime, anticipating the not uncommon Penn scoring drought at the beginning of the 2nd half. Of course - Penn came out with incredible intensity and focus and blew Yale out of the gym.

God knows what next weekend will bring but this really looks like a different team. Very good ball movement and absolutely terrific effort on the other end with a high energy man to man that frustrated Yale throughout.

Everyone played hard and the execution on both ends was fabulous.

If I had a critique it's simply that AJ should shoot the ball more. He loves that step around move but when it's not there he can be forced into a travel. The fact is he could shoot over those Yale bigs any time he wanted to.

I think AJ is way better than the 4* freshman Yale has (who is no slouch). AJ is very long. He was grabbing rebounds not because Yale wasn't tough on the boards but because he was 6 inches higher than them and rebounds at the apex of his jump.

The whole team played fabulous team basketball. What a treat.

PS I watched the Brown game on Saturday morning. I know we buried them but I don't think we were great in that game. The Yale effort was superb - by everyone.
