And unlikely as it seems (or seemed a few weeks ago), if Columbia gets swept this weekend and Penn sweeps, the Lions cannot catch the Quakers.

Well, I'm not sure we're really seeing anything other than the same team as the season goes on. I'm not convinced we really played that badly other than the Brown game. Obviously over the last 3 we've played very well, particularly in the Yale game, but I'm not sure how different that really was from our best OOC games. We're not out of the woods by any stretch. Freshmen being freshmen, we still could hit a stretch where the young guys play like freshmen.

All that said, I'm very encouraged, particularly by Goodman, who has been a revelation. His speed is something. looked kind of outside the offense early on, but now he appears fully integrated. Love the defensive rebounding at his size too.

We're not seeing the same team since two big pieces of it early on, Wood and MacDonald, are no longer part of the mix.

We are seeing Betley, who gives us all-around versatility and finally, finally, the consistent threat from deep we've been waiting for all season long.

Fair enough. On Betley's shooting (and the team as a whole), I think Goodman's ability to find guys off the drive is part of the story. We're getting more wide open threes now.

The biggest thing these guys bring is a higher level of defense. I still remember him finally switching to a man with 7:40 to go in that Princeton game. Nice to see it being the key difference, at least according to the coach.

Respectfully disagree.

Up until Ryan and Dev (and Jones to a lesser extent) were integrated into the rotation the offense was reliant on AJ and then Matt when they remembered to pass to him, and when that didn't work it was up to Foreman to force something. No longer. Everyone on the court can score.

On the defensive end Goodman and Betley allow the team to play more man. The team also seems more comfortable morphing the 1-3-1 zone.

Definitely agree w TL. This is a different team. Now, they may (and likely will) encounter different problems as teams (Cornell and Columbia) game plan for this version, but many of the 0-6 issues, tied to the old rotation, are gone.

We did shoot 48% and 39% from 3 against Brown and Yale, so I would expect that to come back to earth a bit. But defensively we were really good in the MTM against Brown (held them to 25 first half pts) and Yale (28% shooting). We got outrebounded against Yale pretty decisively but when you make 20 more shots that doesn't matter as much.

Cornell and Columbia are not going to shoot poor % against us in their own gym's like Yale did most likely.

Agreed. I'm also encouraged by the rebounding improvements. We crushed Brown there and stayed with Yale despite their strength on the boards and all the shots they missed.
