Cam Green played great for his few minutes in the game. Cam needs to play over Fleming, but hey, too little too late. Cam can play!! He's a stud! Barry awful. Sistare awful. Boudreaux a beast again. Smith played well but got hosed on cheap fouls. Carter played decently. Our defense is truly atrocious. Browns guards made it to the basket on almost every possession. ugh

Brown Game #2 02-25-17 09:27 AM - Post#223486
In response to hoops123
This was the perfect example of what happens when you let a struggling team get off to a fast start on the road. Brown jumped out early and Dartmouth spent the rest of the night fighting back. The Big Green showed a lot of heart in a devastating loss, but if Dartmouth had built the big early lead Brown would have collapsed. Unaccountably, defensive intensity was missing at the outset and it proved costly.
A few other thoughts.
The crowd. What crowd?
Interesting contrast between Spieth and Boudreaux, two of the best players in the Ivy League. Boudreaux is all about effort. He's the hardest working man in rock and roll, the proverbial bull in a china shop. Spieth is an artist. He's an excellent passer, a heady player with a deadly fadeaway. Two different styles but two throughly enjoyable players to watch.
Nice to see EB swat a couple of shots but Dartmouth's inability to defend the drive was on full display most of the night. This time it wasn't just drives but defenders getting picked off and wide-open Brown players getting bounce passes under the basket for uncontested shots.
As for the officiating, it was a joke. Both ways. Both coaches had reason to be upset and the wonder is Mike got the only technical. The game ended a good 20-25 minutes later than usual. Absurd.
Regarding the earlier comment comparing Dartmouth and Penn. You do realize Penn has won its last five games, including three on the road? Steve has the Quakers hitting their stride. Winning at Brown isn't anything to write home about, but Penn did win there by 24 points. The next night it was a 16-point win at Yale.

On the comments about Fleming, defense and intensity, I'll make the same point I made on the Penn board when we lost at home to Brown. Brown is the #3 offensive team in the league, behind Princeton and Harvard. They got by you last night and got good looks largely because that is what they do. The reason Brown loses games is that they clearly have the weakest defense in the league. So your offensive end is probably where you guys had to take it to them to win. It's what makes Brown dangerous -- if you have an off shooting night against them, they will score enough to beat you.

Im even more confused as to why Cam didn't play more this year. Even if he's a situational player there were enough situations like last night where he could have been utilized. He was ultra effective. 🤔

We'd be hard to make any argument that we're not the #8 team anymore...

Thinking about the Brown game again and focusing on the number of points the Big Green were able to put up. It was good that they were able to keep pace with Brown for most of the game. It showed that they could play an more uptempo game and still play through Evan. If they can match that pace and through in some defense they might have a chance to get one or both of these games this weekend. We were right there with P'Ton at home and we got a W over Penn....anything is possible!!!
