For some reason I am reminded of John Witkowski, great Columbia quarterback from the early '80s. In 1983 he won the Bushnell Cup and still holds (I believe) a bunch of league passing records. Was drafted by the Detroit (yes) Lions.
Columbia won one game all year.
How bad must the rest of that team have been?

Bad enough to lose 77-28 to Holy Cross.
But in Columbia's defense, Dartmouth took last in the league this past season, despite having a POY. Of course, we also went 4-6 overall and several games could have gone either way...

Was it a driving rainstorm when you lost to Columbia? Because otherwise, I don't understand that game.

We turned the ball over on downs a few times in Columbia territory, and missed a long (but makeable) field goal as time expired.
It was a year in which little went right for Dartmouth--at least in league play. Hopefully we bounce back this fall.
