Today's DP has an article on former player Mike Auger.
http://www.thedp.com/article/2017/02/penn- mens-bas...
He left the school at the end of the spring 2016 semester and has been working as a leasing specialist for the Hamilton Court apartments. He is planning to re-enroll in the summer and has no interests in resuming his basketball career.
Auger appears to have positive feelings about the coaching staff and is at peace with his decisions.

Ahhhh, Hamilton Court, where I lived for 2 years in Apt B-402 ($300 per mo. for a 3 BR apt). We called the place "the Roach Motel". Highlight was walking through the garbage lined alleyway to Troy's for a "Double Slap" (slap of 3 eggs, potatoes and breakfast meat for $1.99--the single slap without meat was only $.99). Car snowed in for 3 weeks during the Blizzard of '78, although I managed to get Amtrak to call the games at Yale and Brown (had to walk from the train station up the hill in Providence, sliding back 3 steps for every 4 steps up).
Great times.

Next time go to the Superior Court Bldg. on South Main and take the elevator to the 5th floor. You get out half way up the hill.

LOL---don't think I will be tramping up the hill to call a Penn-Brown game again.
Nor does it appear we will have a snowstorm like the Blizzard of '78 any time soon.

There are no interesting stories on players ON the team (or successful former players) that we have to read about someone who walked away? Hmmmm.....

Thanks for posting that. It sounds like Auger gets the game of life. I wondered how the players felt about Allen getting fired.
If people see interesting articles in the DP regarding hoops, please continue to post the links. The articles don't come often enough for me to even think about checking the DP daily. But I'm interested in all angles of Penn hoops!

The strong impression I've gotten is that the players (like everybody else) were highly conflicted about Jerome Allen being fired. They all like and admire him, and really wanted him to succeed. However, it was also clear that he wasn't getting the job done, and that a change needed to be made.

I believe that similar sentiments can be said these days regarding the Georgetown basketball community with JTIII.
