And the final demonstration that that 2013 entering class was, save for Matt Howard, an absolute, unmitigated disaster.

Academically, Jones is a senior, correct? So is he going to get his Penn degree and enter a graduate program at Rice? If so, mazel tov to him. That'll give him a pretty impressive CV.

For what it's worth, Scott Pera, who used to be an Assistant Coach at Penn was just named the Head Coach at Rice.

FWIW, I had the chance to meet Matt Howard's dad when Penn played at Princeton earlier this year, and he told me that Scott was instrumental in Matt coming to Penn...

Rice is now being coached by Scott Pera, who was an assistant at Penn under Jerome Allen.

Jones did not play this season and only played in four games in 2015-2016.

Jones is from Houston, so he will be heading home to play for Rice. According to Mark Berman at Fox 26 Sports, Jones may get a 2nd year of eligibility if he gets an injury waiver.

Congrats to Dylan. I hope he is able to put his injuries behind him and have a successful year at Rice.

Something that we forget about is that many or most college athletic careers involve a whole lot of frustration. This sounds like a great opportunity and outcome for Jones.
