First team 5-A All-State. Along with Archbishop Wood's and Villanova recruit Colin Gillespie. Also joined by Roby Carmody. Apparently those who actually watched Simmons don't think he takes plays off.

    In response to Buckeye Quake

I don't think I even said he takes plays off - which makes it sound like I called him lazy. If I did, then it came out wrong.

Look - James Harden isn't always engaged on defense. Carmelo Anthony isn't always making the pass or rebounding. I'd still take either for the Quakers.

I've asserted that Simmons has all-ivy type potential, but that either his body or his motor (or both) will have to get stronger in college. I fully admit that my sample size and perspective is very limited, but I watched a few streaming games from his HS. It was very visible that he wasn't jockeying physically for positions and rebounds at the rate and pace that Brodeur and even Rothschild do. He still performed great against his HS competition in those games. If you watched those or other games and disagree, then that is fine. If the all-state voters or press disagree, that is fine too. It was just my observations from my limited views. But it was based on real data.

I also said that I see many of the things in him that I saw with Koko Archibong - but with higher potential. That was intended as a high compliment to him. I hope he works as hard as Archibong did to fulfill that potential.
