Behind two stellar pitching performances, Bison baseball took out Navy in two straight games. Yesterday Connor Van Hoose held Navy to three baserunners in a 9-inning complete game 4-1 win. Today Mike Castellani went the distance in a 3-hit shutout as BU won 5-0.
This series sweep puts them into the finals vs #2 seed Holy Cross. HC has a lot more pitching depth, but BU has a shot due to having two very strong starting pitchers. After those two, however, there is a huge dropoff, so winning a Game 3 would be very problematic. The dates for the championship series are up in the air due to this coming weekend being Bucknell graduation.

Patriot League website lists the first two games on Friday at 3:00 & 6:00. Third game would be played Saturday if necessary.

That has changed. Now the first game is at 5 PM Friday, with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday starting at noon.
Hopefully that is a good omen. In 2010 the Bison won the championship, which was held at HC using the same amended schedule as this year to accommodate BU graduation.
