One interesting thing about Giugliani is that he is going to be competing in the distance events at Colorado State - but cannot compete in cross country, where he finished 15th in the PL championships this past fall. The reason is that he already ran four years of cross country for the Bison but missed most or all of an indoor and outdoor track season, presumably due to injury (jkrun?). Thus he still has one season of eligibility for track but none for XC.

Don't know for sure, but I think he's going for the Steve Prefontaine look.
Luke missed indoor season both freshman and sophomore years and only ran 3 races outdoors his freshman year. That's why he still has eligibility to run at Colorado St.

Giugliani was just named a 1st team Academic All-American, after being 3rd team last year. Quite an honor. His GPA in engineering was 3.96.
