Jordan Dingle visited Penn last weekend. Shooting guard from LI who is playing at Blair Academy. BU trip this weekend then St. Louis and Dartmouth also contenders. A good list of mid major offers overall.

With 5 wings already coming in over the next 2 years, is the interest in Dingle because he is considered better? Because he could potentially run the point better than the others who have already committed?

Seen Max play quite a bit....hes a very interesting talent ...VERY similar game to Harrison Schaen..in no way saying that their college career or passion for the game are the same

Good lord I don't think I've ever seen anyone with that kind of talent who cared less about his sport than Schaen

Is this the point at which Yale swoops in and grabs Lorca-Lloyd? Or do they wait for late winter?

Man, I don't know why anyone in his right mind would prefer to be coached by Jones over Donahue.

We sucked then. And Jones is convincing. And it's Yale. But signing up does require you to play for Jones.

Donahue is a much better coach.

The only way Jones is capable of winning anything is when he has the most dominant team in the league. It happened when he had Sears-Sherrod-Mason during a down year for Harvard. Hard to replicate because it's not likely Harvard will have another season like that and we're back from the dead.

I think we’ve had this argument before, but I think Jones is a fine coach. I think Donahue, Amaker, Jones, and Henderson are all great. The consistency of Jones’ record speaks for itself. I suppose it also speaks some to his limitations, but, following a history of futility prior to Jones, I would take 20 straight years of top 4 finishes.

First off, we should mention in this thread that MLL did pick PENN!

Second, Josh from COBL highlighted Lucas Monroe as one of his standouts from Saturday’s game: https://www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/...

Lucas Monroe (2019/Abington, Pa.)
Now that Robbie Heath has graduated from Abington, Monroe will take over at the point. He’s got a few inches on Heath, but didn’t look too out of place on Saturday bringing the ball up and facilitating the offense. The 6-5 Penn commit looked comfortable with the ball in his hands and setting up teammates for open looks. He even got the chance to get an exciting alley-oop in his second game which electrified the bench.

6’5” with point guard skills and athleticism to be on the end of an alley-oop. Gotta like that!

Lucas Monroe is interesting - he could conceivably slot in any of 4 positions. Kind of like an under the radar Noah Kirkwood.

There are a few full length Abington games on youtube. I can provide links if anyone wants. They aren't hard to find. Just a warning for the uninitiated - unlike highlight reels, you'll see both good and not so good, don't freak out about the latter.

My feeling is that this is a really good recruiting class. The players are skilled, athletic, and fit Donahue's mold for the team.

From Pat Lawless:

Here at @TheHoopGroup Fall High School Showcase. Great matchup to start the day with Roman Catholic taking on Rutgers Prep. Penn State commit Seth Lundy & UPenn commit Jonah Charles are both standing out.

@NJSureshotBoys

‘19 6’3” Jonah Charles was spectacular in his teams double OT thriller vs. National Power @RomanBasketball ,he finished with 24 pts, 7 assts, & 6 rebs. Great showing for the @PennBasketball commit in his team’s 1st game of the @TheHoopGroup Fall HS Showcase. #ShoreShotsBasketball

ESPNW has a profile on recent Fall '19 commit Silke Milliman of Northfield Mount Hermon, the #72 prospect on their HoopGurlz Top 100.

The article also profiles Princeton commit, Ellie Mitchell.

From Pat Lawless on the twitter machine:

Both UPenn commits Jonah Charles & Lucas Monroe have looked good. Charles has shot the lights out & Monroe has been great on his drives to the rim.

Just saw that Jordan Dingle played well in a close Blair loss in National Prep Showcase. He scored 30 points on 13 of 18 shooting and 4 of 7 from 3. Blair lost 85-86 against Tilton School, but hell of a scoring effort.
