In front of a sparse Hart Center crowd tonight, Lehigh beat HC 71-67, although they tried their best to maintain tradition by blowing the lead. LU led by 15 points with 5 minutes left. Then after a few minutes of LU incompetence, HC had an open shot from behind the arc to take the lead with under 20 seconds left. Then with a 4-point lead and 6.5 seconds left, LU inexplicably fouled Grandison shooting a three! Does Brett Reed coach stupid basketball or is there something in the Bethlehem water?

Jehyve Floyd continued his run of dominant play, shooting 7-7 with 9 boards and 6 blocks. I think he may have played his way as high as 2nd team All-PL, with an outside shot to move higher if he continues this level of play. I believe he has now hit 16 consecutive shots, at least half of them dunks.

I turned it off with 8 to play. Guess I should have kept watching. Was surprised when I checked later that the lead was down to 2. At least Lehigh is consistent.

With 8 minutes left, LU would have to be leading by more than 30 for the game to be clinched.

Ironically, this happened 3 years and a day ago.

That was a great comeback. Kaspar had a great second half, once he was allowed to play.

Last year, you may recall, the Bison had a similar run vs Lehigh in Sojka but couldn't finish. They trailed by 18 points in the second half, then fought back to tie it about four or five times. Had a 26-8 run in the middle of the second half but lost it over the final few minutes.

Let Kaspar be Kaspar! We learned too late.

Watching the highlights of that game, I was struck by the difference between Zach's freshman body and his senior body. There is hope for Paul Newman.

My wife was commenting during the Boston game about how ripped our players look compared to opposing players.

Interesting to wonder how certain players would have faired under certain coaches. Kaspar would have been amazing in the system ND is running, for example.

Yes...I wish Steven was allowed to play his game. I mean, if the coach didn’t want him playing hat way, why recruit him?

I was wondering if I should be worried, but she's got a few decades on them. She also made a similar comment about our women's team. Well, maybe I should be worried.

Lehigh beats Boston at home 80-75. In usual Lehigh fashion they tried to give the game away late. With a 3 point lead, 10 seconds left, and the ball, Boston stole the inbounds pass and found Scanlon wide open for 3. The ball went halfway in and popped out and Lehigh got the rebound.

Lehigh beat BU (Boston University) 80-75 in Bethlehem. Mountain Hawks let a 9-point halftime lead turn into a deficit of, I think, 8 points but rallied to polish them off. Career-high 23 for Lehigh's Caleb Bennett.

It is really feeling like after Bucknell there is little difference between 2nd and 10th place. I think Bucknell could just as easily lose in the quarterfinals as in the finals if they have a bad game and/or catch a hot shooting opponent.

I think Boston is clearly the next best team if they get Hankerson back. Army and Lafayette are dangerous because of their 3 point shooting. Our strength in PL play has been defense. That will keep us in any game. Remember, Lafayette put 93 up on Colgate on Wednesday and we held them to 59.
