Interesting. While it gets him further away from his Chicago roots, he's closer to Leslie in Princeton and his sister, who is still in Washington. Best of luck to Craig and Kelly and family!

I hope he's getting compensated well. I wouldn't wish the Knicks on anyone.

You said it.

My interest in professional basketball may have peaked as a kid in 1973 when I was enthralled with Debusschere, Dollar Bill, and the rest of the awesomely team-first Knicks.

But boy, it's been a tough road since then.

Same with me. Grew up idolizing Clyde, remember those great battles with the Pearl's Bullet teams, was in heaven when the Knicks had both of them in the same back court.

I also enjoyed the Ewing years.

And now this.

It was good until Dolan grabbed full control, pushed Van Gundy over the edge until he quit and has hit us over the head with 18 years of terrible basketball.

I also grew up watching the '69 and '73 Knicks.

I believe the Basketball Gods have decreed that the Knicks will never be competitive again until the team is sold.

My hope was that David Stern's last move before retirement would have been a conversation with Dolan the I-diot's father, imploring him to sell the team.

Strange how the I-diot's meddling doesn't seem to have as deleterious an effect on the fortunes of the Rangers. He manages to leave their operations well enough alone.

Dolan screws up everything he touches. Indeed, I was going to buy tickets to see Don Henley after he put out his last solo album until I saw that "JD and the Straight Shot" was the opening band. I thought at first it was a band fronted by JD Souther (whom I like) but looked it up and it was JIM FREAKING DOLAN. Here's a review of his band in the NY Times (go to the last paragraph): http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/29/arts/music /areth...

I then looked deeper and found that Dolan had entered into a $300 million deal with super-agent Irving Azoff http://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/leg al-a...
and through that deal, Azoff was putting Dolan as an opening band for his top acts. It's disgusting. I won't attend any event that puts money in this man's pocket.

FREE OAKLEY!

Free Oakley indeed. That fiasco rendered the franchise dead to me.

Drove by his car wash the other day.

He should open up a dry cleaning store and take Dolan to it.

Maybe we should take all this over to the Penn board where all the interest is?

Alright P38, touché for you, I guess. I just turned seventy, so I'm not sure what remarks I made from Baja on, no doubt, the Penn board. Now, when I say, "That's sooo yesterday", the event I'm referring to could have happened 10 minutes or 10 years ago....

No problem--I'm a mere youth of 60, with envy of a life living in Baja.

But there are disgusted Knicks fans living everywhere and having attended both Penn and Princeton.

Ahh ... to be 60 again! I love the Baja, too. I had the good fortune to be included on a 16 day cruise last January crossing from San Carlos to Puerto Escondido and working our way up to Santa Rosalia with many beautiful anchorages along the way. We also visited the towns of Mulege and Loreto. Three geezers on a 29' C & C. Like Loudon Wainright and Ramblin' Jack Elliott sing, I want a double lifetime!

Craig Robinson was recently elected by Princeton alumni to serve a four year term as a member of the school's Board of Trustees.
