Happy basketball season everyone! Any particular team (other than the bison) that you’re excited to watch this year?

my primary interest pre tourney is in teams/schools more in the Bucknell mold than the badketball factories. as such i am interested in seeing how the Ivies shake out, how much seperation is there between the haves HYP and the have nots with Penn hanging in as best they can with the top tier.

others who look interesting to me are Furman and Charleston.

normally i'd like Vermont, but not happy about their existence right now.

of the big boys, Nova, Wake Forest and Northwestern this year. so, bottom line, i'll be watching a lot of college hoops with all that on top of a maximum dose of PL hoops featuring Bucknell..

Was shocked to see Navy is currently leading Pitt by 16 until I checked and saw Navy is a 5.5 point favorite! Is Pitt supposed to be historically bad this year?

Watching the game. Pitt has eleven new players on the roster aswrll as new coaching staff. Pitt started second half 0-11 or maybe worse and deficit could really been much worse, Navy with some sloppy play. But Navy doesn’t look too bad...Pitt will def struggle early and in ACC.

Vermont just lost by 4 to Kentucky. ESPN described it as a very, very good win for Kentucky. "Vermont is a team that will be in the NCAA Tournament."

Vermont had two chances to tie and missed. Also missed two FTs that would have cut it to 1.

No surprise that Yale at home is hanging around with a good Vermont team. Yale looks like they may be the top Ivy team, even with the loss of Makai Mason, who was a likely Ivy POY before his injury.

Ball State ended up beating MVC Indiana State 93-85 on the road. Good win for them.

Siena beat Hofstra by 8 at home in a minor upset. Hofstra has been fairly good, including a win over Dayton.

Monmouth lost to Penn in FOUR OT's tonight. Monmouth is still, without the injured Micah Seaborn. They likely win easily if he had played.

As mentioned on the other thread, Arkansas beat a fairly good UConn team by 35 points today on a neutral court. Also Maryland beat New Mexico by 15 points on a neutral court last night.

Not sure if anyone noticed that one of the officials was Andy O'Brien. He is the one who took a game away from the Bison with his idiotic late game call on Ryan Frazier for stepping out of bounds on the baseline and then catching a pass while 20 feet inbounds about 8 seconds later. O'Brien got thrown under the bus by PL head of officials Reggie Greenwood for his blatant lack of common sense. Since that call three year ago, he has reffed only one game where the PL assigned the refs. He has continued to get a number of assignments from the MAAC and AE however.

Zach is now up to 4th in the nation in PPG at 25.4.

The 3 guys he's behind are averaging 28.3, 28.2 and 26.2.
