If anyone missed the Alabama-Minnesota game, the highlights are worth a watch. During a dust-up 6 minutes into the second half, the entire Alabama bench came onto the court several feet but did not participate in the scuffle. This resulted in the entire bench being ejected, including coach Avery Johnson's son.

Alabama had to play with just five players until one fouled out. So they played with four. Until one more got hurt. They finished with 3 players - AND MADE A RUN - to almost win the game. In the video, notice the Bama bench in the background of the closing highlights. Six coaches and the guy who fouled out. Rather surreal.

Yes, amazing run. Gritty play by Alabama, combined with terrible play by Minnesota. Scores at a few points during the game"

- Two minutes left in first half: Minnesota 28, Alabama 21

- 11:37 left in 2nd half (when Bama is down to 4 players): Minnesota 63, Alabama 52

- 6:37 left: Minnesota 79, Alabama 64

- 1:39 left: Minnesota 83, Alabama 80

Note that during the six minutes between the last two scores shown that Alabama outscored Minnesota 16-4 playing with 3 players!

* John Anderson scored 80 points in 1903 vs Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.

Maybe Philadelphia College of Pharmacy was sampling some of their own pharmacological blends.

I remember a PAC-12 women's game ending similarly a few years ago. I think it was Arizona or Arizona St. If anyone can find a link to that game, I'd love to see it. Google was not my friend today.

Maryland had a critical turnover with about 40 seconds left, trailing by a basket. Game was close throughout - played in the Carrier Dome.

Monmouth ended up beating undefeated Albany by 8 points. Very impressive win with Micah Seaborn still out with his knee injury. Albany had beaten both Boston U and Holy Cross on the road by about 15 points apiece.

  • Bucknellbisonfan21 Said:
Zach is now up to 4th in the nation in PPG at 25.4.

The 3 guys he's behind are averaging 28.3, 28.2 and 26.2.

One of guys that was ahead of Thomas dropped back a little bit so Zach is now 3rd in the nation in points per game and he is 1st in free throw attempts.

North Carolina beat Davidson by 10 pts on a neutral court tonight. UNC led by 16 with two minutes left.

Also Purdue topped Maryland by 5 pts. Purdue has also defeated Arizona and Louisville in the past week to move up to #10 in the Pomeroy rankings.

Ball St won 80-77. I would say that helps our RPI, but unless Northeastern and St. Joe's turn out far better than they are now, it's a moot point.

Forgot to mention this from Tuesday night: Pitt was taken to OT by Mt. St. Mary's in the Peterson Events Center after blowing a 15-point lead over the last eight minutes. A crowd of 2300 showed up to watch a dismal Pitt team, even though students are on campus. Pitt now is ranked about the same as Army nationally.

MSM, by the way, has really been struggling after having lost three starters as transfers to power-conference programs.

There are two players in the nation who lead their conference in both ppg and rpg:

- Zach Thomas (Bucknell) 23.2 ppg, 9.3 rpg

- Marvin Bagley III (Duke) 21.9 ppg, 11.2 rpg

Nova hung on to win, but LaSalle gave them a tough game. Bison will have their hands full on the 22nd.
