Interesting. I wouldn’t have thought that enough of a step up to entertain leaving his alma mater.
At the end of the day, he may not get an offer or he may turn it down. Siena can definitely afford to pay a lot more, but Christian has a 10-year deal at MSM, which may be a big issue.
Patsos was making a base salary of $370,000 plus significant add-ons at Siena. Under his old deal, Christian was making $167,000 plus a few add-ons at MSM. His new deal was for 10 years and likely for a lot more (maybe $200,000 per year ?).
Siena had to pay about $350,000 to Patsos as a buyout to settle an ugly legal dispute, so they may not want to go too high for his successor. Patsos was fired "for cause", but that is often difficult to prove.

There are now a couple of Albany reports that Christian is the new Siena coach. But Rothstein and others say it is not a done deal.

Edit: Zagoria also reporting he has not been hire at this point. I wonder if there are problems with the buyout.

Just saying, if I could nearly double my salary, have some success doing what I love...I’d leave regardless if it was my alma mater. Plus losing players you worked hard to recruit makes it easier to make a change.

After dozens of false stories, bogus tweets, and multiple candidates, it appears that a deal between Jamion Christian and Siena has finally been reached. There were so many false stories along the way, that it's hard to be 100% - but multiple sources, some of them credible, are now reporting the story.
With the resources of Siena, I think Jamion probably will do quite well there.

Done deal. Press conference is today. Rec'd his first offer from them yesterday afternoon. He was not their first choice, but I believe he was their best choice all along.
