Mixtapes aren't good for making conclusions like that.

They actually can be excellent. What this shows is a player with 3/4 skills and a high level of athleticism just like Kyle Casey coming out of hs), as opposed to a player like Ryan Betley who is a pure 3 and perhaps a 2 if he continues to improve his handle.

According to the Youtube page, that's the "official" mixtape. This brings up a couple of important questions:

1) Is there a mixtape sanctioning organization out there? If so, how do we get in touch with these people?

2) Is there an unofficial, underground mixtape of Mr. Scott? If so, what unsavory images might we find there?

And here's Jelani's official mixtape:

What can you tell from it? I'd say quite a bit. To start with he's a lot different type of pg than Dave Klatsky was.

I obviously don't know the heights of the other players on the tape; but Jelani doesn't look to be 6'5 or 6. Looks very quick with a nice shot though.

From what I saw on the tape, Williams' game reminds me a little bit of former Virginia PG London Perrantes. Not the quickest or most athletic guy out there, but smart and crafty.

Let's hope he makes a swift and complete recovery from his injury.

I've watched their videos a few times now. Both of these guys are different than players we've had before.

Scott shows an ability to run the floor and finish above the rim. He seems to be a very good cutter. The videos don't really highlight defense, but he seems like he should be physical enough to be effective. He seems to be a mix between Jed Ryan and Shawn Trice. He has the potential to be better than either, but he'll have to develop his game.

Williams is neither the fastest nor the most physical player ever, but he has a good blend of the two. He is unafraid and gets to the hoop. Perhaps he is a blend of Jerome Allen and Michael Jordan, again with the potential to be as good as either if he has the mental toughness and can develop all around.

I love the potential of both, but both are a book half written. Both are ahead of the players I compared them to at this stage of their development (in my opinion).
