Reports are circulating that Mike will be returning to practice any day now, after a long layoff with an ankle injury.

He was out longer than I thought. John Collins has been doing pretty well so I’m not sure Mike will return to the starting lineup. Hopefully he returns and gets decent PT.

Collins is out at least three weeks with a shoulder sprain. Dedmond is injured as well. If Mike gets back in the next week, he will get plenty of playing time.

Finally looks like Mike is recovered from his injury. As the article notes, there's quite a bit of depth at the 4 and 5 spots (though Dedmon is still out). But given the Hawks dismal play, I'd think Mike will get some opportunities to prove himself.

Mike had 13 pts in 17 min for Erie last night, including 3-5 3FG, 4-4 FT. Will likely play in their next home game Saturday before going back to Atlanta.

Mike might be the only person in Erie who can see over the snow!

I assumes this means he will travel with the Hawks on their west coast road trip.

I peaked in on their game in Erie last night just in time to see Mike bank in a half court shot to end the 3rd quarter. Had 14 pts, 6 reb in 19 minutes.

Mike has been back with the Hawks for a few games now and so far playing time is almost non-existent. He got his first action in last nites game versus Portland, with basically mop up duty. Zero points, 2 boards. Looks like he is the fourth PF but could also backup at C, I suppose. Meanwhile CJ has 20 points and 6 assists. Probably was a little hard for Mike to watch in some ways.

This was the first NBA game he has played since Nov. 3. Hopefully, he gets more playing time as he continues his recovery and gets more comfortable.

Mike played 6 minutes last night at LA and made the most of it. Shot 2-2 on twos, 1-1 on threes, 2-2 from the line for 9 points - and added 3 boards and 1 steal. Hopefully they will start to ease him into more playing time.

Mike had 9 pts in 15 minutes in a win @ Denver. Ironically, his stats were exactly the same as the game in LA, including rebounds and steals. Has he missed a shot since he came back?

No in three games since returning to the Hawks he has not missed a shot yet.

Actually he has played four games since his return. Shot 0-1 in his first game, on January 5th. Still it's a spectacular return.

Stats for the four games:

40 minutes, 5-6 on twos, 3-3 on threes, 4-4 on FT's, 13 rebounds, 2 steals, 23 points.

Yeah, missed the 4th quarter of the Portland game. I had watched the first three and he had not appeared with the Hawks down 23 so I never saw him come in.

As a side note one of the first things that happened after Mike came in was CJ going out. The PL's two NBA players played on the same floor at the same time for a grand total of 1:27 this season. (Unless they are both in the finals :>) )

Mike had one of his best games since coming back - 14 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 1 blk in only 13 minutes. But also picked up 5 PF trying to guard Dwight Howard. He made 3 FTs to put Atlanta up 1 with under 3 minutes to play. Those were Atlanta's last points as Charlotte closed on a 12-0 run.

Wow, 5 PF’s in 13 minutes is a lot no matter who you’re playing against. So far tonite against Washington, the Hawks and Mike are having a tough time.

Don't know if they were playing hack-a-Howard or if he is just rusty on defense.

Great game for Mike today in a win over the Knicks at MSG. Made a 3 with 47 seconds left to pull the Hawks within 1. Then assisted on a Bazemore 3 with 8 seconds left to give them the lead. Ended up with 15 pts (6-8, 3-5), 6 reb in 23 minutes.
