Wolves excellent color commentator Jim Petersen had very nice things to say about Mike and said he worked out with him before the draft. They did a little feature on him as the only Bison to play in an NBA regular season game.

Mike seems to be shooting a lot of threes...I’d think it cannot be his strength but maybe it is now.

I think it is definitely a strength now. Mike is hitting about 40% of his threes for the year - which is very good - but he has been shooting them even better recently. In 14 March games, he hit about 45%. A 6-11 player who can shoot like that from outside and force a big man on the other team to chase him 24 feet from the basket is a valuable commodity.

Mike Plumlee is making $12.5 million a year and is garbage.
Muscala will end up getting paid someday and BIG!

Muscala spent some time playing SF today with the Hawks going big. Posted a double double.

Nice. That is the 5th double double of his career. Mike hit 2-2 on twos, and 3-9 on threes for 13 points. Also had 10 rebounds and 3 assists. The Hawks won 94-88, and Mike was a +11 during his 25 minutes of action.

Ugh. Hawks laying a huge egg against Miami and Mike is helping them by going 0-7 in 20 minutes. Just 7-28 from 3-pt in last four games.

I can't recall if someone posted this already.
MM and Kent Bazemore recorded 20 podcasts during the season. They are essentially "shoot the breeze" sessions about life in the NBA. It's called Road Trippin': ATL and is similar to the podcasts that Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye originated.

Yes, he has one more year for a guaranteed $5 Million, but he also has an opt-out clause which would allow him to become a free agent next month. Given the minimal cap space that most NBA teams have, he may decide to stay where he is.

Just speculating, but it seems if Budenholzer leaves for the Knicks or another job Mike might go as well. I'm guessing if Bud stays, Mike stays.
Here's a review of his season: https://www.peachtreehoops.com/2018/4/24/17266592/...

Sounds like Charles Lee may be headed to Milwaukee. Is Moose next? It would be a good move for him. Atlanta is going to be very bad for a very long time.

Mike was back this weekend for reunion. Sounds like he plans to stay in Atlanta this year.

A good draft from a Muscala perspective tonight. Atlanta had three first round picks, including #3 and #19. They ended up with PG Trae Young (plus a future first rounder) in a trade, and then got SG/SF Kevin Huerter from Maryland with #19. Neither of these players will affect Mike's playing time. We'll see who they get at #30, but it will likely be a big who won't see a lot of playing time early.

Hawks took Nova's Omari Spellman, who is a 6-9 PF. I doubt Spellman will take many minutes away from Mike as a rookie.

Has he officially opted in for this year? I have not seen any reports confirming one way or the other.
