While those who wish to do so can continue to argue Woods vs. Foreman vs. Rosen ad infinitum on the other string, why is no one giving Goodman his due in this discussion?
It is arguable that Goodman had the best performance of anyone in Saturday's scrimmage. He is without a doubt the fastest player on the team in the open floor and may be the quickest as well. I watched him warm up and he appears to have worked on his shooting mechanics in the off season. If he has improved as much as the scrimmage would suggest, the distribution of minutes at the guard positions will be dramatically different from what is being discussed here.

I don't think anyone is overlooking Goodman. As far as I see it, the 3 of them (with Foreman and Woods) will be sharing the vast majority of guard minutes.

Last year's in conference version of Goodman is a better player than Woods and will push Foreman for the starting guard position IMO. The key is whether he can keep his shooting percentage up and TO rate down.

yeah... so about that.
I don't see it. His stats are worse than Woods by a fair bit. And to say he came on in the 2nd half isn't quite accurate either. He came on for about 4 games in the middle of Ivy season, then followed it with his last 5 games, two of which were terrible, two mediocre and one good-ish.
His assists and turnover % aren't where you'd love.
The one thing is his defense might be good or better than everyone else we had available. I don't see that, but I'll allow for it as him playing more did coincide with a better stretch.

There is no question in my mind that Devon was the most impressive (I mean that literally - not necessarily the best) player on the floor on Saturday. His unique traits were very much in evidence and he will get his minutes, no question. Woods' presence on and off the court will only make him better. The only question is exactly how the guard rotation sets up (does it include Betley at the 2?) and whether SD trusts him with the ball at the end of close games.

cool. the team definitely started playing better when he was inserted into the lineup. correlation is not causation, but that would def be cool.

There is no mention of Silpe. Is he even still on the roster?

He was on the floor a fair bit during the scrimmage. I think the consensus is that, with all the guards in front of him, he will not play much barring injuries at the position.

Silpe was a non factor on Saturday. I don't see him getting much time at all.

What I meant is that we got a pretty good look at him. I agree with your opinion here.
